Honestly, I have no Clue why I heard this wrong or why I felt compelled to post my feelings, however misunderstood they were. I can't believe I got that upset over nothing.
Ray Manzarek has really got narrating talent,he knows how to tell the story to people who are interested and he is doing that in a way that you think of it as not just a pure talking but more,like a sort of performance.Honestly I don't know whether he is really honest about everything he says about Jim or in general from this perspective of time but I do enjoy listening to him.

I like the documentation from a guy who was there, but there is way to much B/S in this little story. Ray mentions that the last time Jim probably sang was in the studio with him but everyone knows about the lost Paris tapes Morrison recorded with a street band he met. Also, the phone call from Jim to Densmore was a little to detailed by a guy who obviously wasn't included in the conversation. Manzarek is a phony. This guy is a money hungry pig who never amounted to anything without Morrison.

Have to correct Ray on something. The last time Jim Morrison was in a studio was in 1971, in a recording studio in Paris, doing the "Jomo and the Smoothies" tapes. Look it up; not a conspiracy theory or any bullshit like that.

@antitainment Yes, actually, some waiter tried to charge me 13 euros for a glass of water, and I ordered lemonade in the first place. It was at some bistro in Paris on the Champs D'elysees. I asked the guy why he was charging me so much when he screwed up my order, and he acted like a complete asshole, telling me I had to pay. So I didn't. I walked away from the restaurant (outdoor seating) without paying. There was no way I was going to pay that bill, tips are automatically included in Europe.

If you took one band member out, you wouldn't have the Doors". Why was the band reformed in 2002 without two of its members (thus incurring two lawsuits, one from the Morrison estate and another from John Densmore)?

@Gromhond11 Sure, at the Beginning Ray was the one who said to Jim that they sould beginn with a Rockband emidiatly as he heard Jim the first time Singing at the Beach , but after all the books i have seen , Jim wants that too , but later he was finished with the Rock Star thing , he wanted to be a Seriously Poet , and i think , if he wouldnt died in Paris , he wouldnt go on with the Doors, for Jim the Rockstar thing was finished .

They were up for a new contract, free and clear. What a load of money they lost out on. LA Woman, was playing in the stores. That was a bummer when he bumped himself off with drugs or whatever he did.

Jim's junkie girlfriend got all his stuff cuz he willed everything to her. Took three to four years to settle it all. She finally got control of the estate. Bought herself a VW and a fur coat and china white. She used the china white and ODd. Her grave is here in Orange County, Ca. People have made it a Jim/Pam shrine.

I got to meet Ray at the Rock roll hall of fame induction, one of the greatest moments of my life. A down-to-earth, approachable and kind fellow. So proud to have met him.

I like the documentation from a guy who was there, but there is way to much B/S in this little story. Ray mentions that the last time Jim probably sang was in the studio with him but everyone knows about the lost Paris tapes Morrison recorded with a street band he met. Also, the phone call from Jim to Densmore was a little to detailed by a guy who obviously wasn't included in the conversation. Manzarek is a phony. This guy is a money hungry pig who never amounted to anything without Morrison.

Have to correct Ray on something. The last time Jim Morrison was in a studio was in 1971, in a recording studio in Paris, doing the "Jomo and the Smoothies" tapes. Look it up; not a conspiracy theory or any bullshit like that.

@amelie100able Unless that was just where his girlfriend Anne wanted to go? Despite my feelings about the French, Paris is still the "city of love." What Ray is saying in this video suggests Jim went to Paris to make Anne happy. So it's very possible it wasn't his choice of place to go.

@antitainment Yes, actually, some waiter tried to charge me 13 euros for a glass of water, and I ordered lemonade in the first place. It was at some bistro in Paris on the Champs D'elysees. I asked the guy why he was charging me so much when he screwed up my order, and he acted like a complete asshole, telling me I had to pay. So I didn't. I walked away from the restaurant (outdoor seating) without paying. There was no way I was going to pay that bill, tips are automatically included in Europe.

i think people should really stop those rumours about jim morrison faking his own death. he wouldn't have disappeared just like that, he wouldn't have left the woman he loved and he would not have given up on his music and being on stage with his band. look at the state he was in shortly before he was said to be dead...he was certainly not healthy. let's just remember him for the beautiful human being he was and the incredible amount of wonderful music the doors have given to the world <3

I dont know under Parisian LAws of Cemetaries - one must look up the laws for one might be surprised of How laws are made to cater to the individual soul - Paris cemetaries are quite old and have delt with all possibilties through the centuries to cater to individual means as a phycologist (licienced Doctor) and all was recorded on film of stage and backroom so basically as a phycologist of certain things said He had all available reasons to dissapaear from PUBLIC eyes - new identity !!!

I don't get why people give Ray so much shit. He was there, this is his recollection of how things happened. Most of the stuff you hear to the contrary are from others that weren't in the band. The interesting thing is why he is referring to their manager at the time, Bill Siddons as "this guy". I wonder if they had a falling out for him to not mention him by name.

@Peacefrog35 Well I do know that soon after Jim died, Danny Sugerman became the manager. So maybe they did have a falling out. Ray tends to do that, he still calls Robby "Robby", but John "Densmore" after the copyright incident between them.

It seems Ray stil has some questions and rightly so. Something just isn't right about the events surrounding Jim's death. One thing I always wondered was why Jim's family didn't bring Jim back to the US to be buried. Always bugged me, among other things. Instead of people making an issue over the Miami concert they should have been checking into Jim's death.

Ray Manzarek is a hypocrite. One of the things he likes to constantly drive home ad nauseum (besides his "Jim might still be alive" bit) is that "in the Doors, no one was more or less important. If you took one band member out, you wouldn't have the Doors". Why was the band reformed in 2002 without two of its members (thus incurring two lawsuits, one from the Morrison estate and another from John Densmore)?

Ray just lays it on too thick for me. One gets the impression that the image has to be maintained to keep selling. I'd rather have the brutal truth than image and let the chips fall where they may. Especially since Jim grew to resent the image he created. His words didn't get press, but his antics and his appearance sure did.
