Anatomically the superior cat is the tiger. And seeing as how as how the lion does not live in the jungle but the tiger does, there is no argument that the tiger is the king of the jungle. Lions come into conflict more so than Tigers, they have to protect their pride from other male Lions all the time; nature has equipped them with tools for combat do and are built for it, regardless of size and weight the Lion has a huge main protecting its vital spot its throat, which all together gives a large male Lion the slight edge. It's only speculation when saying a tiger can dominate a lion or in vice versa. Anyone can come up with stats and what not, but the matter of the fact is... we don't know who will win. All tigers and lions have their own strengths and weaknesses, and not all of them are the same level of fighters/predators. average tigers are only up to around 60lbs heavier than an average lion and the trees easily support the lions weight and I don't see how it wouldn't be able to for a tiger, sometimes even supporting around 3lions, even though tigers don't receive as much pressure as lions they are alot more territorial and cramped jungles or even shelter in cold places is tough to find with many other animals and tigers in the area defending it

It is never a full out one way or the other, various elements go into each battle and fight. Lion's are superior fighters, as that is all they really do, Tiger's are superior killers as that is how they survive. The only thing that allows the lion to win more often, as it is well documented, is it's mane. The tiger cant get a good bite on the neck because of it, therfore can not get a lethal blow.

This debate on which is better gets really annoying! With the exception of the Siberian Tiger, the tiger and lion are roughly the same size. Both are fairly equal in strengths and weaknesses, both have a fair chance in winning fight! If you really want to see a predator that is actually big, why not try a Polar Bear? An interesting fact I learned the other day... In all the times throughout history that humans have seen a lion and tiger fight... the lion has never once won. Anatomically the superior cat is the tiger. And seeing as how as how the lion does not live in the jungle but the tiger does, there is no argument that the tiger is the king of the jungle. Lions are a lot smarted, and run and tackle their prey. Tigers use stealth. It's good, but they both are low on endurance. But the lion easily wins due to the swift bite to the neck which is over 1000 pounds. Tigers bites aren't as strong.

kodiak bears dont live with tigers. tigers have a large stretches of territory so they rarely encounter eachother.Although its frozen they can get water simply from streams or from there kills. They just roam around by themself with no compeition. Lions have to fight off rival males for control of the back so he has to be in top physic wich makes the lion always ready to fight. Tigers face extreme conditions of drought and other species of animals a tiger wouldnt last in a lions footsteps.

If they switched habitats the tiger would be very vulnerable in the savana much like a leopard fending for himself only thing is tigers arent good tree climbers so he would be constantly picked on by prides of hyenas and packs of lions his kills would be constanly stolen. The lion could survive in the winter haven of siberia his mane would keep him warm and evolution would eventually let him adapt.

yes but it is survival of the fittest. A lions prime is constantlly tested and if he shows any flow he is banished. This puts alot of pressure on the lion to be at his peak physical condition. Tigers being very heavy although they might be able to climb i do not think that many trees would support that weight the tiger would injure himself they weigh a little more then a lion and lions stay away from the trees and ive never seen tigers climb in the jungles... average tigers are only up to around 60lbs heavier than an average lion and the trees easily support the lions weight and I don't see how it wouldn't be able to for a tiger, sometimes even supporting around 3lions, even though tigers don't receive as much pressure as lions they are alot more territorial and cramped jungles or even shelter in cold places is tough to find with many other animals and tigers in the area defending it

yes but this goes for lions as well if your climbing a tree thats alot of weight you have to hold you would get tired quickly it would take a long time for tigers to become skilled tree climbers they probably would end up slimming down since food is so scarce much like the leopard has evolved. trees are the leopards turf and werever the tiger would go he would have to fight for his tree but he couldnt climb it anyway there not made for climbing...

Northern Bengal tigers were 5 inches taller at the shoulder than Kenyan Lions and a 1/2 inch taller then South African lions. I think it's time, it's time, to lay a smack down on this subject. With tons of circus videos of amur tigers and male lions size by size, this bullshit has gone far to long. Ask any big cat trainer, that works with lions and tigers. Amurs the tallest

oh, and one more thing, comparing a fight between a lion and an adult bengal or siberian tiger to David and Goliath, such as you did in your video description, would have a much better impact if not for one small detail...David beat Goliath

take a lesson from the lions and tigers in most of these pictures. they look like they are getting along just fine without people arguing which is bigger or better. besides a virus which is smaller than a single cell could kill either one of these cats so according to your who could kill who approach the tiny virus is superior.

yeah but a polar bear could kill a tiger, and an elephant could kill an elephant if it wanted to, and a great white shark could kill an elephant if it were dropped in the ocean, and a blue whale could snap a great white in half with a swing of its tail, blah, blah, blah, etc.etc....there is always something bigger, or stronger, or faster, there is no real need to try and prove one animal is superior to another just because it has some characteristic that seems to give it an edge over another

Siberian tigers have been know to kill adult brown bears so could mb take a polar bear so cant really use that argument tbh

It is never a full out one way or the other, various elements go into each battle and fight. Lion's are superior fighters, as that is all they really do, Tiger's are superior killers as that is how they survive. The only thing that allows the lion to win more often, as it is well documented, is it's mane. The tiger cant get a good bite on the neck because of it, therfore can not get a lethal blow.
