The connection was 3 dominos wide, so probably not. My initial hand movement was just a reflex from stopping single lines...it looks funny in this video like I think I could stop a field! The domino that started it was leaning against another, I do not know why I didn't think to slip something between the rows or remove the dominos behind it before trying to remove it...stupid mistake.

Something to consider when you're doing more of these: consider keeping a digital clock nearby that does 24-hour time (starts on 0:00) and keep it in view while setting it up. it'd make some of the time-lapse scenes neat, being able to tell how long they last :)
