Do you guys think they will continue to add new content to FFXI? Or do you think they will just let it go on auto pilot from now on? EQ1 is still releasing new expansion. If FFXI will - maybe I wanna play it.

I havent played this game but the research I've done indicates that its virtually impossible to get into it as a brand new player unless you have connections to ppl who have played for a long time already. ppl I ask say its very very very new-user unfriendly.

Lvling your first job will be a pain because everyone just leeches in abyssea for the low lvls now, and without knowing anyone or having access to abyssea you'll have to EXP outside solo or if you get lucky with someone who just started as well. After you make a couple friends and get to a higher lvl everything will get much easier, but that could take weeks for a brand new player.
@upbeatglitch I just started the trial, and I have to say that solo leveling is easier than I thought it would be, and I don't even have the destrier barret. I just do the field manual individual training quests over and over, decent exp and gil bonus when u finish. I'm assuming that most outside zones have the AMAN field manuals for those, so, maybe kinda time consuming but so far it seems doable, I really like the atmosphere of the game, I don't want the low population to discourage me.
After a 20 months break ur video made me come back (at least it was the final reason i returned after all) Im back @ XI for 3 weeks now and its so great. Abyssea: Much fun
@SomaLovesTheRedlight Would Wizbot be worth it? Probably not the guy who sells it is really shady. He likes to do things like ban you from the program for no reason, put trojans/viruses on your pc, DDoS other FFXI websites. If you really want to pay for something you can easily get for free I guess it would be worth it.

@GuitarHeroRulez321 If you don't use SMN's Perfect Defense he is still the hardest NM in the game. Till this very day no one has found the true secret to killing AV, however with PD and all the omgwtf1337 DDs you can just zerg it down.

I didn't spend 12 hours camping NMs, or waking up at 3am to fight Fafhogg for years just to be upstaged by the same morons who stood in WG all day complaining in /shout, and now FFXIAH.com lists Emp weapons as an accomplishment? Right, cause a fu*king FAIRY that can be killed by 2 people is on par with YEARS of collecting currency.
Whether or not I agree with you (and I agree with a lot of what you say, though the way you say it is a bit harsh) the fact is that something needed to be done to revitalize FFXI. Maybe SE went too far in the "easy" direction, but I've seen a lot of old players come back, and some new ones coming in. You can now low-man fights that used to take a lot of time getting people together, meaning more people can have access to all the missions and stories. That's a good thing, overall.
@ZerilaFFXI I agree that for the game itself, it has been good, but it has changed players. People are getting more and more anti-social. Even in my own Linkshell, there has formed cliques. 2-3 players that always do things with each other, and only with each other, *because* everything is low manned now. Even the LS leader, who used to bend over backwards to help his members, has become a hermit, doing things with only a select few, no longer creating events for the entire LS to do.
Actually, the exact opposite happened in my linkshell (Lucky). We were casual-only, and very rarely did stuff together outside of static groups that would do Salvage, etc. Now we have most of the shell doing something together whenever we're on. It helps that the Atmas, etc. drop for everyone in an alliance, there's no reason to NOT have a ton of people doing the same thing.
Still, I see your point. Abyssea is still new, I think things will even out eventually (I hope so, at least)
This exp is obsolete now that Heroes of Abyssea is out. Dominion ops = extra 4000+ exp every 5 kills. Then of course also 600 exp per kill...and the exp chests of 1000+ exp. So yeah a merit in 10 kills or less. It's soooo nice...but way to easy.
Abyssea ruined this game. Nobody does Dynamis, Limbus, Ground HNM, Absolute Virtue, Pandemonium Warden, Salvage, Sea, Sky, Einherjar or ZNM anymore because all of those drops are absolutely worthless. Everything in Abyssea is extremely better in every way. 30 minutes a day? Fuck that, i need more time than this or else i'm going to be dicking around in the game doing something worthless.

@MoribundFantasy Depending on what time you play, there are usually pick up groups shouting for members in Port Jeuno all the time. Since it's an alliance party they usually pick up anyone they can, not much of that loljob mentality, unless the party is nearly full, so it's pretty easy to join one
I did my first Abyssea party yesterday. It was amazing. Remember the old days when decent XP was 4000 per hour, great was 6000 per hour, and if you told anyone you could get 10,000 per hour they'd call you a liar?
I remember my first abyssea, went from lvl 74 to 80, full 10/10 merits 9999/10k limit points, and about 110k cruor, lasted 15 hours with over 500k exp (I left twice too)

@adlisamsudin you have to buy the new abyssea ddon you have to zilart addon. but it says that when you buy the addon. then you have to talk to certain npc in port jeuno and such. just look on clopedia. 600xp per ob is absolutely awesome. maxed out merits and jobs even subjobs.

@Thienthan No one PvPs on Odin, it's pretty sad... Shouting in WG for 3 hours to do a 60 cap and you might get 2 /tells.
...And by the time its ready 1 of them will back out..
