The first song was awful. As a jazz purist and musician, her interpretation sounded like "a pop star trying to sing jazz". Its really not that hard to actually listen to one of the versions the greats did or someone who knows their jazz. Jazz w/o swing, is like eating food w/o taste...so I hafta thumbs down this one, even though the transition was nice.

Jazz purist means that you acknowledge and respect the fundamentals of what makes jazz sound like jazz. Since everything in jazz (well music in general) is objective, rules can be broken, and we you break certain rules you compromise the style. Gaga didnt swing, which is step 1 in a ballad (unless otherwise noted. I have the music and its not)

Don't take the Judas reference so literally. It was meant to be a metaphor. In the song she says, "Jesus is my virtue, but Judas is the demon I cling to." The song is supposed to be about struggling to overcome your darkness (represented by Judas) to find your light (represented by Jesus). It's a religious allegory, get over it.
