  • Trumbone person.. yes, Every New Day came first. It was the last song played or encore song for pretty much every show. So since Distant Shores was the last song on their last album (The End Is Near), it was appropriate to give the best ending that they had. One of the best bands ever. I was in love all through middleschool and highschool and can't wait for the rumored 10 year reunion show.

  • Saw it live :)

  • God of Trombones! Great Name!

Every New Day was on Our Newst Album Ever, ironiclly which was one of there first albums.

On Distant Shores, was on The End is Near, which was there last Studio Album.

Five Iron Frenzy ended every live show with Every New Day. (E.N.D. Get it?)

So it was only fitting that the last song on their last album, On Distant Shores, shared the tradition.

  • I'm new to FIF so my history is a little off...this has the same climax that Distant Shores has, doesn't it? Is it a remix (was is remixed?)?

  • I'm not totally sure on this, but here's what I'm guessing went down: Every New Day came first, and when Distant Shores was written, they thought the lyrics from END fit in with DS so they just popped them in the song.

  • yup! That's right! They always ended their live shows with Every New Day. Distant Shores was the last regular track on their farewell album. It was fitting.

  • @GodofTrombones Every New Day was FIF's hit song for a long long time. When they wrote Distant Shores it was the last song on their last album. What better way to go out than have the climax of their most renowned song be the last thing recorded by FIF.. I remember the first time i heard Distant Shores the first time and just sitting there stunned. After listening to Every New Day for 5 years and having that climax be the last thing they wanted their fans to hear, it was pretty epic.

  • My fave song by the band. <3 I think The End is Here version is the best; the harmony Reese does at the end of song is really moving. I nearly cried.

  • This is my all time favorite song ever since I heard it on a sample tape of various bands. The end of the song is awesome in every way.

  • hey whered you find this pic?

    awesome heart-rendering song

  • I think got it off their website, but I had to screenshot it since the site wouldn't let me copy it.

  • five iron frenzy haha reminds of everything ...well there is a new beginning to everyday....truly a blessing to be here everyday...thank you godd

  • What?!

  • this song is awsome ,i love this song, god bless you

  • so glad i found this recorded version cause its just... so much better than the live one. it dont like the angsty way he sings in the live one

  • I gotta disagree here. I find the live version to be superior not only on the musical but also on the vocal side. He sings much better in my opinion.

    Cheers mate

  • @PauloEifel I agree, I find when he sings live he puts more emotion into it. It sounds more sincere live.

  • skA sKa skA for Jesus!!!!!!!!!

  • realy like this song!

  • Love this one!

  • I LOVE FIF

  • Good stuff for sure.I love it.God bless you guys.

  • This is my favorite FIF song! I hoping for a reunion.

  • nice one, a recorded version, all the others seem to be live (not that theres anything wrong with that)
