It's funny that while this film is not a pure Dracula film, people and critics consider Nosferatu to be the best version of the story. I have to say, without an amount of sex or blood, it is a classcial joy to the eyes. First time I saw Orlok, I couldn't sleep for a few days.

This is a marvelous idea for a film...

but the decision to ask all these fine actors to put on "pseudo-Deutsche" accents was ridiculous.

@Stereolabdream it is a genuin film that portraits the filming of

Nosferatu Phantom der nacht, a German silent movie from

the 20ies, John Malcovich portraits the director Mornau

I do recommend the original movie, German silent movies

held a very high standard.

@svartekaptenen Yes, I know both films well. I admire Murnau.

My personal preference is for actors to use their own accents rather than try to do a "German" or "French" or whatever...it isn't neccassary. In this film, for example-it is clear that its set in Weimar Germany...we don't need the false accents.
