That tornado footage is from the killer F-5 Topeka, Kansas tornado from (I think it was June 8th) 1966. It was one of the worst tornadoes in Kansas history...think about that for a moment. My wife was in high school there, and was only a few blocks away from that monster. It scarred her psyche deeply. We now live in Arizona. But even on completely sunny days...if the wind blows enough to make the telephone wires sort-of sing....she'll sometimes start shaking terribly. joel in tucson

I do believe that the first bit of tornado footage there, and possibly all of it, was the infamous Topeka, Kansas F-5 in June of '66. My wife witnessed that from just a few blocks away as a high schooler. She's 60 now....and that incident still has left it's scars to this day.
