In Canada we're covered but even though there's two sources of funding the government can't keep up and is cutting back services. First goes the hospital beds, then the Ambulance service. Social programs are like complex ponzi scams you become a victim when the scam is exposed.

In Canada we're covered but even though there's two sources of funding the government can't keep up and is cutting back services. First goes the hospital beds, then the Ambulance service. Social programs are like complex ponzi scams you become a victim when the scam is exposed.

Estimates show that by the time that the Iraq war is all said and done, that little cluster fuck will have cost us and our Grandchildren 3 TRILLION dollars, (not to mention the mass murder or 4,500 of our soldiers and thousands of innocent Iraqi's!) good programs w some problems can be refined, & priorites reallocated according to fiscally sound triage. we are talking in some cases about the prevention of death & suffering. if the bleeding is not being staunched effectively, the appropriate response is not "let it bleed"

i am not going to blame any government agency specifically -- i think many of the problems started with the neo-con generation and the "me no pay tax because govt bad and me greedy piggy" mentality. Calif. prop 13 -- classic. Now govt services are in disarray and underfunded.

i bet its extremely hard to be a CEO i mean if you do a good job you get rewarded and when you do a bad job you still earn millions of dollars (golden parachute) even when the company goes bankrupt and hundreds if not thousands lose their jobs because of it.... poor CEOs they really got it bad...

Bretton Woods was a pretty amazing thing. After FDR declared himself emperor it should have worked -- if we had any other president that could fill his shoes. then we went and got stuck in vietnam -- why we didn't just end the dirty little war instead i don't know. Nixon had to do something. The neo-con war machine isn't exactly concerned with economics -- please see iraq and afghanistan if you need more proof. Theres some sage advice about pride and falls that seems to fit here.

FDR had Europe wrapped around his finger after ww2. It cost them just about everything. They basically became subjugates and France broke first thanks to Nixon being an idiot.
The idea of the euro was to make super-fiat. It worked for a couple years.

i think you are hung up on fiat -- in fact we have moved past fiat to credit. we use cards to buy everything -- paper isn't even involved. what could be crazier than pretending paper is worth something? now you know. everything is numbers traded by computers
a huge chunk of the world is kind of angry at the united states right now -- we traded trillions of bad debt for goods. a joke only an economist would laugh at -- with china we traded bad debt for toxic toys.

From what I've read, the Canadian system costs $180bln / year.Imagine if the trillion+ that has gone so Republicans can play with and murder other people's children in the sand would have instead gone towards improving health care and education in the United States.True investment in the future of America.But that would be patriotic, and conservatives are against investing in Americans.Theyre for profits profits profits, and that means moving the jobs to China and less benefits for Americans.

In Canada we spend less then half of what American do on heath care per capita and we're all covered for our entire lives guarenteed. The problem with our system is that it's underfunded, conservative refuse to fund social programs properly and then accuse them of being inefficient. Yet we get far more for our money then the Private sector could ever provide. The hypocrisy of those who expect social service to work but refuse to pay for them is astounding.

The soldiers do, the generals command, the government runs the budget.
My point was it's not privatized and would certainly not be improved through privatization.
Congress (in theory) decides when we use the armed forces, budget hikes or cuts, etc.
I absolutely never meant to say that politicians are on the battlefield, that would be silly. I have no idea where you saw that.
