  • As a futurist.

I am seriously doubting that we will be there in 50 years.

If they would've said 2075-2100 I would've had an easier time believing it.

  • it will be impossible to die and that sucks!

  • But the question remains, will Religion dimish to nothing and everyone remain at peace and treat others the way you want to be treated?

  • thats kool, we will never die = D

  • Wew. I guess everyone in the air would die of aircraft crashes. Whatta dumb idea... They cannot drive without tracks and roads.

  • @BadboiRules could you go & be stupid someplace else.

  • @hayden50 What do you mean by that?

  • @BadboiRules we won't die of crashes since there is little human interaction & the vehicles would be miles apart like they say in the video.

  • @hayden50 Unless we're still at war with other countries and cyber terrorism becomes a problem.

  • How bout bring back the dead with a computer chip that would b crazy shit

  • lol "a milky substance"...so if I want to be an asshole and fuck around with somebody I don't like I'm just gonna replace that with a jar filled with my cum

  • Yeah...I'm sure having bubbles in your bloodstream is a GREAT idea. What happens when they hit your brain? lol.

  • lol ok once ur done with ur flying car start working on how to fold it into a suitcase like in jetsons XD

  • lol yeah why the hell would they allow us to drive air born when we can barely drive on the ground... they'll probably have a rule no one over 50 can drive in the air cuz we all know how old people drive and they'll probably ban women cuz you know how women drive lol... flying cars is a dumb idea, we already had air planes being flown into buildings do we really want a whole bunch of crazy people in cars flying into buildings?

  • wow why the hell you know about that futures that cant be true you always fail on end of the world and now this

  • I'm so glad I'm 14. And my being a nerd only makes me more excited. I just hope war and disease doesn't fuck it all up.

  • "Half of all Americans will be airborn" they are doomed

  • I see an immediate problem with flying cars, in that most people suck at driving. Until these flying cars drive themselves, I wouldn't want to get in one with someone else.

  • @kalle202se i'd like to be in the air with they instad of on the ground. I'll have more room to keep from getting hit by them and by the time we have flying cars we'll have self driving cars

  • platinum status secured, how is he?...

  • flourocarbon? wiki pedia Dot org/wiki/Fluorine

  • reversible death? sure reboot me oh snap operating system not found cause the sole was on the RAM.

  • In britain we still pay for healthcare. People think the NHS makes it free, it doesn't it makes it more affordable part of the tax funds it

  • if u drive a flying car wont u need a drivers license AND a pilots license?

  • bubbles belongs in my bath TUB!

  • @KierLightraven

    lol!

  • so i guess in 2057, we will have a law that prevent human being from dying. Dying is crime. No one are allow to suicide.

  • Maybe its just me, but if your stupid enough to fall from a third story window, maybee you deserve to die? I dont like how everything will be so integrated in the future, wheres my privacy? Privacy / Freedom, including the freedom to be a total fuck up > Safety

  • i can see the future becoming the age of the private corporations. that sucks

  • 1:07 - Human fail, robot win again.

  • Come on Discovery Channel! Science Fiction is not Science. This is just fluff TV for retards.

  • check out the venus project- its much better then this garbage

  • I didn't like where she was looking when she said, "Diagnosis," in front of the 'full body scan.'

    5:39

  • he triped on the dust buster, that's still funny to me, haha

  • On the flying cars, what will happen to the people who wait till the tank is on empty before they go get gas?

  • @pieman97405 Survival of the least lazy.

  • @pieman97405 It says the car will drive itself so they will probably program the software to go to the gas station when the gas is low.

  • i don't think it will be 50 years maybe a hundred i think their expectations are a little too high.

  • i don't believe in this in 2057... maybe 2350

  • Michio Kaku is cool

  • Flying cars won't happen anytime soon.

Everybody seems to forget that oil production is not forever. But for turbines, carburants are necessary.

Humanity will have to face a MAJOR ENERGY CRISIS. Life as we know it will chage dramatically.

  • but imagine if u charge ur car 1nce n from then it is powered by the wind energy collected by fans behind the powerful jet engines

mabe not possible now in the future hoo nos

  • What you propose is a Machine of perpetual movement, or free energy.

But as Lavoisier said: Rien ne se perd, rien ne se cré, tout se transforme / Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everithing change.

So, your big rear fan will create a drag that will simply cost even more energy than it will give...

  • bugger

well it sounded good in my head :P

and who thumbs downed my first comment???

what, we dont like stupid people now???

  • No offense. Nice try ;)

And I didn't thumb you down.

  • @jimalbi those arnt possible >.>

  • @jimalbi I wouldnt take much credence from someone who lived in the 1700's (rather than the smartest people in the world today at least) :)

  • too bad Government takeover of the healthcare system is going to set this technology 500 years away as opposed to 50 years.

    yippie government!!!

  • You live in a hyperpower you ass, the technology will be fine

  • I don't understand you americans who oppose that takeover. I'm German and have to tell you that public healthcare works perfectly fine over here. The state guarantees for a basic healthcare which you can easily upgrade. If you're willing to pay more, that is. And the living standard over here is really high.

I for one am proud that in a lot of European countries the less wealthy, who can't afford major surgery out of their own wallet, are not left alone.

  • Theft...

that is why i oppose it.

  • ...youre dumb

  • You believe Insurance's lobbies whose interest are MM$ before your health. Every civilized country have their healthcare system. If you are scared of that, that you think your country has much more incompetent people than the others. Don't believe Glenn Beck. He's a sick tard.

You put people on the Moon, but you think you couldn't manage an healthcare system? Be coherent.

  • that was the stupidest response i have ever heard...

Our Government didnt put people on the moon...fucking moron.

And no, it cannot run a Healthcare system...look at all the other Social programs it so well manages...all are bankrupt.

And, from your response, i am going to conclude you are not from America...and do not know why America was founded our what Liberty and Freedom are...enjoy your slave life with your life at the hands of your politicians and i'll keep my freedom of choice.

  • Something you don't seem to understand: you are society, not a business. Social programs are not meant to make money. They are social tools for the people, the tax payers.

And for your information, I am a french canadian. I do not live in a dictature. And guess what? I'm free as much as I want. Moreover, there is much less crime in my country than yours.

And where is your fuckin choice when you are too underpaid to paid yourself (or your family) a health insurance?

  • 1) I am an Individual...not Society...this is the thought logic of a Socialst...I am none of the such.

    2) the Taxpayers? do you know our tax structure? Tax Payers are not beneficiaries of Social Programs...those who pay NO taxes are.

    3) Crime in our Country is due to Government ignorance and stripping the individual of choice (i.e. War on Drugs, Gun Regulations)

    4) Underpaid?...again, thanks government for taxing the shit out of our Businesses so they cannot afford payroll.

  • 1) An individual that lives with millions of other individuals MAKES a society.

2)This is JUSTICE you are talking about, but you don't seem to recognize it when you see it. Here, You pay taxes (make your part) as soon as you earn 20k$/y.

3)False. People have guns, but they don't need to use them as their dicks.

4)You seriously think that what the government wouldn't take from a 24 would go to the clercks?

Hey! Cash is a tool! NOT a GOD!

  • Again...your brain runs on Socialism and Government control...you wouldnt understand the idea of Liberty.

Guns are the Individuals way of Protecting his property and Rights form domestic enemies that may try and infringe upon them...

Cash is Property...and being as such, noone is ENTITILED to it but the person who earned/owns it...NOONE...this, again, is why we have the Right to bear arms...to protect our Property in the event that someone else feels that they are entitled to OUR property.

  • I urge you to read the Declaration of Indepedence...read our Constitution...read the speaking of our founding fathers...do this, before you try and explain to a Liberty minded American the ways of Freedom and what Society and Money are...

To you, it is completely different than what it is to me.

I am a Sovereign person who is the ONLY person entitled to my Property...no Government nor other person is entitled to my property without a VOLUNTARY exchange for a service or good...NOONE

  • not unless the government imposes iminent domain, you have no property u are simply on borrowed time and land. u own nothing

  • Your first paragraph clarifies it all...

    You are a Socialist.

You feel that it is the Responsibility of the hard working, successful people to maintain an equal lifestyle for those who opt not to work hard and educate themselves further.

I am a Libertarian, I feel that it is YOUR life and therefore YOUR Responsibility, noone elses. If you are physically or mentally incapable of bettering yourself or surviving, there is VOLUNTARY charity for help...not forced Charity, aka Government.

  • You know nothing of socialism. You libertarians are like McCarthy, screaming COMMUNIST as soon as they hear a neighbor's fart.

Giving a part of my money so poor people can feed instead of stealing is a SECURITY matter. They will cost much more money in prison. A prison they will reach, not beaing really dangerous.

More than that: I have been unlucky in my life. But thanks to my neighbor's taxes, I went to university instead of prison. and today, I pay my part.

  • I live in Socialism right now and i can smell Communism on its way...i know alot about it.

The key word you used there..."Giving"...if you give something, it is not TAKEN from you...you voluntarily parted with your Property. I to feel that this is a necessary role in order to assure that a Society, group of Individuals, stays healthy and maintains freedom...But, when a person is forced into giving, this is unacceptable and goes completely against freedom and Liberty.

  • corporatist pig

  • Corporatist?

    Ha.

    You are a fool...

I am an individualist pig...all about the individual and HIS/HER Property...if that individual opts to venture into the corporations world, so be it...they have the Right to produce goods for the economy and sell them at whatever price the market demands...if they make insance profits, it is what the market demanded.

I am assuming you are not American, a true American wouldnt think like you...

  • And crime is not a result of stripping an individual of choice, as a matter of fact if you give people choice they commit crime, but if I take a criminal and gut him in the middle of the street... nobody does anything again. Individualism is more practical than collectivism in the long run, but only an authoritarian society can impose order.

  • authoritarian society?

    Okay Hitler...

Individual Rights and Responsibilities accompanied with a Republic (like the ones the founders establibshed) preserve order...

It is YOUR life and utimately YOUR Responsibility...anyone who tries to harm YOUR life, you have a Right to bear Arms and protect YOUR Life (Property)...

this in itself preserves order...Authoritarian doesn nothing of the such...you commit murder and get a prison sentence? give me a break...

  • Hiter? I'm not impulsive, emotional or racist, your insult is unimpressive. And you are your own responsibility, but as soon as you become the problem of another person, you are to be smashed into submission. The good of the American Empire comes before the desires of the people.

  • Empire?

America was founded to promote Individual Freedom and Liberty...not an Empire.

learn your history on WHY this country exist before you try and say the desires of the individual people are subordinate to that of the actual society...

America is millions of Individuals...not a "Society" as you think

  • No you're an individual if you live in the 50 states, but it you go to the colonies, like South America and the Middle East, you are an Imperial citizen. I said what I said for a reason, or have you not noticed that I am American too?

  • ya black is thinking in terms of imperialism he has no idea how a real democracy works, he so used to american democracy hahahaahah which basically is an empire. although america was founded on the ideals of democracy it has turned into an empire.

  • thats what hitler said, u are probably one of the same morons who blindly followed bush to war for the good of the empire. Become an individual not a shill for the empire becuase someday the empire will strike back. PUNNNNNNNN

  • What a brilliant comparison. And you're already deducing that I'm a "moron"? I'm not making any accusations but I'm not impressed

  • you know at one time slavery was for the good of a nation. would you have blindly been a slave because its for the good of the whole. I hope you are not black please tell me your not black.

  • were u being sarcastic

  • i think i am arguing with the wrong guy lol

  • @OrganicThumb420 in any case its ok I guess.

  • I havent ever watched a full Glenn Beck episode, dont care for him or anyone else on TV...minus Judge Napolitano.

    "Civilized Country"...civilized, maybe...but are those Countries FREE...NO.

If America doesnt get back on track to Freedom, we will end up a shit hole like EVERY other Country on this Earth.

Why can you and others not accept that YOU are Responsible for YOU and noone else? If you opt to help others...good for you, but this decision CANNOT be forced upon you by Government.

  • You scream «freedom» without even knowing it's meaning!

Freedom without justice is just the fuckin jungle. Bravo pour le beau modèle social!

And even your justice is a farce. You only wish for shows and the return of public hanging.

    What an imrprovement since 2000y!

Go in Canada and Europe. See if they have no freedom! America is NOT the belly button of the world, narcissic redneck!

  • I really could care less about Canada or the French.

I care about my own Country and its affect on me.

And, i dont speak French, so whatever you just muttered...fuck off.

Freedom without Justice? the fuck is that supposed to mean?

We have a Consitution set up that provides for Justice and Freedom...only problem is, a handful of our Politicians read it and abide by it. Our dumb ass President is not one of them..200 years ago, his Justice for doing as he does would be a nice hanging.

  • There is no justice in America, none.

  • ...and i cant say i dont disagree with 200 years ago.

Our Country STEALS from the Individual pocket with nothing in return...Our Government was originally set up to provide Defence and to Protect our Rights...now, we are like all of Europe...a Social pool...who knows, soon our women may not even shave their legs and arm pits too...fucking disgusting

  • White Bread? Latest new suggests that Wheat Bread has cuased more problems than white, regardless we have a Food and Drug Administration....... Thats like having a Gun and Bullet Removal Administration! Lets let one group of people decide what we can eat and what pills we can take to fix us becuase what we eat kills us. Still I agree that it might be time to "adjust" what we consider good for us and start working with green zone foods. Don't know what green zone is? Google it!

  • man imagen the sound systems in thoes car/jets

  • Really why this obession for technology for health? Wouldn't be better if we take away things like Diet coke and White bread(search what's it made of). we letting our food and air and water being polluted and than we accept technology from the same leaders that brought us in this mess?

think for a sec and ask yourself why are they doing this? It's about controle if you ask me, but check it out for yourself, cause teaching yourself is always better than listening and following without thought.

  • You have a grossly over-simplified view of the world! There isn't this secret society "out to get you!" You have this delusion that the world is supposed to be perfect. It's not. That's a fantasy told by religion.

  • I taught myself and found out that people brought this upon themselves with blind consumerism. Not some secret society like The Illuminati or the Freemasons, not even the governments.

People wanted 'bread and games' and they were given exactly that. Not like I have anything against it, but sometimes you have to stop and look around yourself, start taking stuff in moderation. I think that the current crisis reflects exactly that - people going crazy with consumerism.

  • maybe where the aliens an then we make flyin suacers an go into space an other planets see us an think were ufo an they have are old tech in 2057 an in 2057 ill be 61 how unfair is that

  • If you don't have "platinum class" insurance (1:45), they will not use "reversible death" on you, hahaha.

  • @Indrius hooray for free healthcare in the UK!

  • @rebelyelleasyrider lol, no government would be able to afford to fund these revolutionary medical treatments.. hooray from private health insurance !!!!

  • Just imagine how much gas/energy a flying car would need. Flying a piece of metal in the air is the most inefficient way of transport.

  • I think in 2057 or within 20 years, gas wouldn't be needed.

  • well in 10-20 years many cars will be made of carbon nano-tubes which is 10 times lighter than steel and 100 times stronger, carbon nano-tubes can hold charges so the batteries will be paper thin, if one charge can last for a 200 km drive, imagine if you stack 1000 batteries that are paper thin? 20,000 km worth of drive with a single charge, also they will implement solar panels on cars so you charge while you drive, you'll never see another gas station again =D !!!

  • the designs suck

  • We are never going to have flying cars because we can barely drive safely on the ground.

  • Thats why we wont be driving at all. The vihecles will do the work for us.

  • EMP=Raining flying cars

  • what if you live in the bonnies

  • i think the problem with flying cars is that when theres an accident IN THE SKY chances of the people living are low

  • no 36cfrocksmysox123455, because they'll use 'reversible death' on you ;P so you'll survive

  • lol

  • @36cfrocksmysox123455 That is why they would need all this awesome medical technology to save those air crash victims.

  • that would be awsome if they had cryo chambers. ooh rah!

  • Sorry everyone. TRY to keep an open mind, lol.

  • This kind of hypothetical future may be too far-fetched, but then again, maybe not. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us. Even if I'll be an old fuck by then, who knows. Maybe by then, we'll look as good as people 20 or even 30 years younger then us. Pretty cool stuff here. I always tyry to keep an open mind, even if it may seem rediculous.

  • Men will be in the sky flying...while women will remain on the road crashing each other...

  • lol

  • wow... the ffluorocarbons seems like the easiest and most immediate tech, but think, you could dissolve 300 times the oxygen and stay underwater like a whale!

  • damn thats tight... u get to sleep while your car flys u somewhere....u could get a 30 min nap before goin 2 work.

  • this is probably inaccurate its probably closer although i dought some of it wont come true like the micro chips in clothes i wouldnt buy any lol

  • they could but it would probably be so inaccurate that there isn't much of a reason to make it.

  • i wanta see future life in 2109,they should do an show on it.

  • very intresting ty for uploading this :)

  • Yeah it sucks that the rich will be the ones with the best healthcare but what can you do...it's always been like that. A working universal healthcare would be the greatest event in medical history.

  • Hi Striden12. I enjoy your videos and optimism about the future, but what is wrong with the rich having the best healthcare? Aren't they paying for it? We have universal healthcare in Canada and like any socialist system, its bogged down in beuracracy and massive delays and shortages. We are facing a doctor and staffing shortage reaching critical levels in some parts. Universal healthcare is a nightmare to be avoided in the future.

  • That's why i mean a WORKING unviersal healthcare. I live in Canada too and the current system doesn't work but it's mainly because of the countless seniors who outnumber young people by like 3 to 1. Atm we don't have enough kids to grow up and support the ever growing old population. Private healthcare is most beneficial for 3-5% of the population the rest will suffer.

  • I dont think 3-5% of the population is responsible for improving the well being of the other 95%. How individuals chose to peacefully spend their own dollars is of no concern to anyone else. Universal (aka socialist) healthcare will never work as its an immoral concept to begin with, robbing Peter to pay Paul. The one thing the above video fails to stress is that even the allegedly crappy 'state' health care in the future will be vastly superior to todays best private care. Cheers

  • That 95% should be entitled to a decent amount of healthcare i believe instead of being left out. I think Universal healthcare being immoral is pretty exagerated. It's like saying donating blood is stupid because taking blood from a fit man to give to a dying man is immoral, that just wouldnt make sense.

  • The 95% in this future video have it better than the richest people on earth today. They are not being left out. You are basically saying its not good enough if the Jones' got it better. Thats the definition of greed my friend. Donating blood is a bad analogy as its *donating*. A better example would be forcibly removing blood from healthy people against their will, and at some health cost, to give to the sick and calling it 'universal blood'. Im all in favour of donating, but not theft.

  • I hope you dont take my replies as rude or confrontational. I really do appreciate your channel and views on the future btw. Our side discussion is just about differences in political philosophy. Cheers

  • Sorry about being ten months late, but I didn't know you two were having this talk until now. I have a perfect solution.

In America, our education is both public and private. As a result, public schools are not as bogged down by beuracracy, because the public schools have to be competitive to avoid loosing kids to private ones.

If Canada did something similar with their health care, it would likely improve tremendously. It won't be perfect, but it would be better.

  • Unfortunately public healthcare has been ingrained to every Canadian as some type of inalienable virtue, but I agree!

  • So do you have freedom of speech up there or what? Petition your equivalent to Congress. Get enough people all over Canada to support you, so your legislature will have to do it just by fear of loosing reelection.

  • Even our 'conservative' govt knows that tinkering with our universal health care would be a election losing move. "Canada is the only nation other than Cuba and North Korea that bans private health insurance"

  • Why do you have conservative in quotes? Maybe it's a culture gap, but in America, conservatives are the ones who DON'T want change.

  • Well by conservative, I mean typically right-wing, small-government, anti-regulation, pro individual, pro business. But our conservative govt is traditionally more left wing than the US democrats.

  • well, have a look at Synth. Blood. Oxycyte could in a few years be approved and the stockprice is very interesting. SYBD.OB and a BUY - for sure. $ 20 ++ in a few years and the Product for the world.

  • LMAO....tripped over his roomba vaccum and was PWNED!

  • I didn't like the whole "platinum status" health insurance check before they used the high-tech meds. I'd like to see universal health care worked out in 50 years for millions rather than technology that will save a few -- that would be real progress.

  • I would like to see both!

  • Here in Canada, we are already half there!

  • We are half way to a major crisis. I live in a major Canadian city and routinely personally see the problem with the fallacy of socialist medicine. My coworker spent 5 hours strapped to a stretcher in a hallway vomiting and jaundice before a doctor gave him morphine for the stone they discovered he was passing. I hope in the future we are free to spend our earned dollars however and on whomever we wish.

  • Theres a documentary you should watch rbairos1 i think it will change your mind about private healthcare. It's called Sicko by Michel Moore, i don't care if you like him or not it's still something you should watch. You can find it on google videos. Being a canadian, I thought our healthcare system was bad but its nothing compared to the one in the U.S

  • I can't in good faith rely on Michael Moore's movies, objectively speaking. After watching 'Farenhype 911' in response to Farenheit 911' I saw how far out he goes to portray ideas that are not supported by fact. Some clips he edits even contradict his points when shown in their entirety. He's a deceptive man with deceptive movies.

PS. Half my relatives emigrated to the US with no health care coverage complaints. These are hardworking blue collar workers with no formal education either.

  • Some of the reasons Ive read for the problems of US health care relate to its overregulation and how it leads to an unwieldy, inefficient, expensive service with lots of shortcomings though..

  • Well i may disagree with you a bit on fahrenheight 911, Sicko is based on absolute facts. He interviews people who've been cheated by insurance companies and reviews costs for uninsured patients. In the end he brings 9/11 voulunteers who've been denied healthcare to cuba who receive better treatment for free.

  • Well I can see the US health system being over-regulated and bloated causing insurance companies to defraud clients under full govt protection. But don't be fooled by Cubas health care. Its a two tier system: One for peasants, and one for tourists and the rich elite is a supposedly egalitarian society.

Cuba's standard of living or personal or economic freedoms do not compare to any western nation that I know of.

  • Well here in Canada we pay about the same amount of tax as you and still we get universal healthcare that's free and is still pretty good. The only thing that might take a long time to get is an operation. France and England have universal healthcare and it works fine there also.

  • Ive read the only countries that illegalize private health care are Canda, North Korea and Cuba.

  • When it comes to a persons health, no one should profit over it especially if that person is terminally ill. Restricting care to someone who needs it is extremly immoral. If anything there should be a system with private and public clinics so if the rich want to pay they can pay.

  • "no one should profit over it especially if that person is terminally ill"

What do you call profit? Earning a living? Getting paid for your time? Whats more immoral? A doctor dedicating 10 years of study and 200k in studies in order to make a generous living saving lives, or a man who cares not for medicine and becomes a bakers part-time assistant? Who restricts access to health care more in that case? The only alternative is to enslave those that can in the medical industry against their will.

  • Wow well maybe you didn't know this but doctors in the universal healthcare system get paid very well too. Anyways universities here a subsidized by the government so becoming a doctor costs roughly 50k not 200k.

100 000 dollars for a life saving operation is cruel and completely unecessary. I'm pretty sure you must be pretty well insured because if you weren't your stance on this would be completely different.

  • Striden12: People who are against universal health care aren't necessarily well insured. It's surprising how effective conjuring up specters of communism is in getting people to vote against their own interests. You saw rbairos1 trying to conflate universal health care with Cuba and North Korea.

  • Well if you really think universal health care is related to communism then you really don't understand something.

Perhaps you didn't know but Canada, France, England, Germany and mostly all industrialized nations have universal health care. And those countries have a far better living standard than in the U.S. In fact most americans want a universal health care system however those who speak up are usually branded as communists by conservatives and private companies.

  • Striden12: Maybe you should be saying all of this to rbairos, not me. I am not against universal health care. I was simply making note of those who believe that it leads to communism, I wasn't agreeing with them. I thought that was clear enough in my post.

  • I didn't like the whole "platinum status" health insurance check before they used the high-tech meds. I'd like to see universal health care worked out in 50 years for millions rather than technology that will save a few -- that would be real progress.
