I think Robertson is good for general aviation but does not hold a type rating in a DC-8 according to the FAA's airman certification branch. He holds Commercial Lighter-Than-Air Free Balloon, Private Airplane Single Engine Land & Sea, Multi-Engine Land, Glider and an instrument rating.
Looks like a much better than average movie of this genre, and it addresses a not uncommon problem. Robertson, always great. Frank Converse, havn't seen him since he played a trucker in 'Movin' On'. Thanks for posting this!

I remember seeing this back way back in the 70's. As I remember it the pilot ends with him being an agri-pilot and happy.
