One of the primary reasons for my support for McCain is the fact that this guy has actually been in the front lines. Bush was never an active member of the military- McCain was a POW during the Vietnam and knows what it's like to be there. I also like him for the fact that he doesn't change his opinions due to what the polls say- he remains steadfast in his beliefs. In these troubled times, I believe that that is what America needs.
McCain 2000 spoke of the religious right as agents of intolerance. In 2008 he was sitting in Falwells lap and recruited Hagees endorsement. He flipped flopped on the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy and in this campaign surrounded himself with corporate lobbyists [ 5 quit suddenly]. His summer vacation from gasoline taxes was, like Clintons, sheer pandering. The maverick is dead and gone.
