  • I love the kindness of this sonnet, I memorized this lyric a few years ago and I yet remember, it's too comely to forget.

  • I'm doing this one for the Shakespeare competition in February. I have only half of it memorized though.

  • why make it sound so ludicrously pretty. a sonnet is merely a form of speech. it is not the ascension of speech. in life he was not an eloquent ghost. he didn't mean to be a an eloquent ghost while he was living. we destroy these poems when we try to make them more resounding than the daily epiphanies to be found in conversation. these moments are not effecting us, they come to life as we notice the unity and lessons found within them. stop the reverb and the sound effects.

  • denga mparà a memoria sta roba x domani, che cazzo di palle! >.<

  • nice

  • thank you so mutch for up loading this

i have to do this for school .....

made it so mutch easier hearing it then reading it

  • I urge everyone to listen to David Gilmour's amazing version of these lyrics.

  • Beautiful words

  • Wonderful, thank you!

  • Why is this considered as one of Shakespeares most harmounious and beautiful works of 'art' to represent a woman?

  • He didn't do much with the iambic pentameter. :/

  • what if slipknot voice the one who read this poem?????????

  • MISSBABYICE you are wrong!!! this poem wrote by a husben of 'the' he...he...he.... to be more accurate about him he known by everyone as (the writer).... i don't understand the part you saying me "you do know it's addressing to a man"?...... but still, my interest after 3 mounth is your phone number?....because i still not manage to prove to someone that i am man enough...it will be much better if it's was you!!!! he....he....he...! just joking!

  • lol, i heard this for the first time in the movie "its a boy girl thing"...and they said it was addressed to a man..gr8 movie btw..and gr9 sonnet ofcourse :)

  • to remember this you need to read it to the rhythm of a sonnet. da DA da DA da DA da DA da DA

  • A poem that outlives its poet and muse thanks to printing and other readers.

  • Shakespeare.... cu tutt o core una cos t ric.....ce fat nu bucchin!!!!!!!

  • god! we have to study shakepeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. don't get me wrong, i like the story, but it so long and so hard to learn....

  • @luvmusic4life96 thats my favorite play and its one of his shortest. Julius Ceazer is a lot longer. How did u like a midsummer nights dream??

  • @Tayfan11 i like the play very much. it is actually my first shakespeare. i want to read Romeo & Juliet, tho

  • @luvmusic4life96 i read that my freshman year it was really good. its funny how everyone says its a love story but really its a comedy or a tragedy... depends on your perspective.

  • @Tayfan11 yup, people thought it was romantic but i felt like it was more of a comedy bcuz of the actors and i guess their stupidity. This play clearly states that love is crazy and it makes us go against people we care about and makes us do things we normally won't do. It confuses us a lot....

  • Thank you, I've been looking for examples of iambic pentameter, and this is the first video, that actually uses it. wonderful.

  • i love the birts

  • This was written for a dude... Kinda takes away from the whole meaning, but still a nice sonnet

  • @TheElectricBanana lol ikr we had to do a report on him he was a bisexual...i have no hatred to them but i always thought someone like him would have all the ladies but instead he has all the ladies and men

  • I like it but i hate this guys his voice. Its creeps me out.

  • I just took this a couple of days ago in school !! So deep so beuatiful!

  • what the man mean for real is "i love you not enough but i lost for word" so he wrote the poem!...... so every body should start to search for love and get girlfriend!.....

"i love you..........you love me......... we are na...na....na...na...na...! with the big nack pady wack give a dog a bone!....na...na...na...na...na...na..na" (barnie them song!) every body sing together!..........1....2....3

  • shall i compare thee to the summer day=no one can match her beautiful for him..

man above= sometimes forget how butiful his girl was when she's still alive and no idea about his love in the after life

thee=girl, beautiful,in love, with this man (patrick steward), but has die.

man can breath=the man above still alive.

or eye can see=people still wrote their comment...he...he.

    long leave this=the poem

and this give life to thee=their love will still remain.

    bird sound= don't get jealous

  • @stuw101 - You do know it's addressed to a man?

  • @missbabyice i thought it was written for the dark lady.

  • This voice is scary. Id love to see patrick steward say this HA.

  • ~This is so beautiful. Thanks for posting.~

  • Excellent!

  • Woah, never mind. I just listened and it's obvious that he has a thing for Summer's Night. It's not very polite for him to play games with Day.

  • It is pretty obvious that he wrote this poem to a Summer's Night, to make it jealous.

  • I have to perform this Sonnet for my English Class on Monday...With gestures. I love the beginning and ending. :)

  • This is the one of my favorite Sonnets!

  • mmmmh I'm not sure...

  • thanks Kindu2006, ' subjective' it is.

But for the Popular Culture junkies of today -my new version of this , I have David Beckham repeating the word 'Shall' 100 times.

(he only had to say it once -I duplicated the other 99 )

& mixed to a dance beat.

Could have a ready made market.
