This is a fine western, post Sergio Leone. Eastwood is excellent. Better than in the the Man with No Name trilogy. Music good too. You cannot beat the old films.

Ya! AMC is having an all day Clint Eastwood movie marathon today and we just watched this, so I had to look it up. If anyone is interested, check out the movie on Wikipedia and then click on Inger Stevens, Clint's blond GF in the movie, and you can learn about how she was passed around Hollywood, until 1970 when she OD'd.

If this is on TV - watch it. But buying it on DVD, i wouldn't recommend.

when a fistful of dollars was finished they called Eastwood to reprise his role. Charles Bronson was meant to play Col. Douglas Mortimer in For A Few Dollars More but turned down the role.. It was then taken by Lee Van Cleef
