The fact is we each must weigh competing alternatives and goals against one another and decide on the best course of action in a manner consistent with what we want out of life.
I would be more persuaded by an argument that convinced me that a compact fluorescent light bulb would save me money though the CFL's I've tried so far have kept burning out prematurely on me even though they're supposedly supposed to last more than 5 times as long (bad luck, maybe?). And if you accidentally drop one, they contain mercury, which isn't exactly good for the environment (particularly YOUR environment!).

@gwen4me4ever actually that's terrible. why would you put something extremely biodegradable and highly compostable like dog poop inside something that takes hundreds of years to break down? I have 2 dogs, and picking up after them is a fact of life. at your vet or pet store, you can buy bio-degradable plastic like bags for this. they are even black, so people can't see what you're carrying.

I would be more persuaded by an argument that convinced me that a compact fluorescent light bulb would save me money though the CFL's I've tried so far have kept burning out prematurely on me even though they're supposedly supposed to last more than 5 times as long (bad luck, maybe?). And if you accidentally drop one, they contain mercury, which isn't exactly good for the environment (particularly YOUR environment!).
