Thanks for posting this! Reminds me of the 10 to 12ft little speedster I had back in high school in '90 when I talked my sister into going "halfers". (she never drove it). My Gramps gave me a 1960 35hp Johnson that sat in his garage for over 20 years and it started 3rd pull and screamed at 42mph with the little prop probably made for 25mph max back in 1960

Can't believe I didn't take any pictures. :( That old 35hp was the size of a 4stroke 100hp these days and the stern was really weighed down

Great video ! Your right. All the little speedboats, sk's, hydros etc seemed to disappear for some reason. I had a little Glenn-L "TNT" 11 foot S-K / hydro I built back in the 80's (w 40 Mariner) and I really miss it. Always wanted the 13 Bullet Boat too ! Just picked up a 73' Glastron CV-16 that should make me feel better.........ED.

Cool video, thanks for posting. In the late eighties I saw an 18' Cigarette two seater at a Boston Whaler dealership on the Clinton River in Michigan. I couldn't believe they made a boat that small.

@nevsky1961  cigarette also made a 13' cigar boat called a "mini hawk". they made them from 1984-1989, they are rated for a 25hp but can handle a 50hp, and can get up to 55mph with that . if i had on it would have a 75hp. a mini hawk is an awesome boat, they are very rare too. definetly my favorite boat.

try to search you tube for a video "rocking at the rock on the rock" it was a classic boat show with a couple of volksboats included, mot mine but mine has only seen 20 min water time in 20 yrs, I do still play with my grumman sea wings hydrofoil though but it is 15' aluminum

i have a 10ft Lazer with a 70 horse johnson. Ive taken it out a couple of times and its f-ing fast. dont know how fast the speedometer dosnt work. i dont know much about it, any info would be appreciated.

@doraarmendariz dont know much about the lazers but a 70 horse wholy crap personaly i dont think speedometers are to acurate for mph anyway go to canadian tire they sell a handheld gps for under 100 bucks ill do a little diging for som info on your lazer for you though!

yeah, that is actually a boston whaler that a guy in alaska did over to make it look like a "hydrostream virage" -which was the speed boat he had at the time- he did an AWESOME job making it look like a mini hydrostream! he actually added a "pad" to the center of the hull's bottom too, to make it an actual performance boat! "pad" is aflat spot in the center of the boat's bottom, when you go fast enough the boat will rise up on to the pad and thats the only thing in the water then, LOTS OF FUN!

Great Work! I really have enjoyed these pictures. :48 & 2:45 Are my favorites but, I liked them all. I am seriously going to join this micro boat sport, somehow, someway! The catamarans I would think, would be much more steady for that size of boat, rather than the regular vee shape for the hull. It would just seem easier to tip over. I can't get that white catamaran out of my head, right after 2:42! That one is so my style! LOVE IT!

I have never seen these, until now. I grew up boating/fishing, & I have always liked speed boats of all types.

Since, I am in a wheelchair, due to previously fractured hips & pelvis, this here would be a GREAT alternative, other than a rough jet ski.

Not saying these will be smooth but, it is more accessible for me, rather than mounting a hump, underneath my hip joints. Rhetorically thinking out loud here.
