This music was made with hardware gear,keyboards and so on! The fat basslines, the great melodies, strings and simple track composition. Nothing more was needed to create wonderfull and timeless trance tracks! Awesome work here from MIKE! One of the greatest belgian tracks back in the days.

Nowadays everything is made with stupid software, loops and samples! The creative spirit has gone and trance music will never be the same again as it used to be.

@zebramol Yes and I think software plugins is a big blame in it really, all the nice hardware synths started collecting dust and a generation was fooled that they sound the same but they don't. The examples are all over, after 2000 trance and most other EDM turned into cheesy shit with no real texture in the sound. Just big sounds drowned in reverb, but the actual source of the sound not coming from hardware is a big setback of the overall experience. You hear music today, back then you felt it.

@M3sslah You're so right, I'm sick of people telling me how soft synths sound just as good if not better than hardware, it just isn't true. Everyone ends up using the same generic synth sounds and sample packs and the end result is something with next to zero creativity and originality. Their convenience is also something of a deterrent from producing good music too, no effort's involved, which suits these people, the ability to knock out a tune whilst sitting on the toilet or lying in bed
