  • that drummer is kill in it with style.. awesome

  • I love 1:09

  • no se escucha un pomo!!

  • Зверь парень... тему держит конкретно.... почитает квадрат по заветам...((((...!

  • Less is always more...even when more is more!

  • Joe's from Detroit - home to aggressive drummers and his bands always feature strong drummers. He likes it hot like that, keeps the music percolating.

  • @Girolata Nah, he from Lima, Ohio, where the rest of his family currently lives including me, im only 15 but he was my uncle and i think i know a little something about him.

  • @DwightHowardSup3rman Of course born in Lima but musically, he's from Detroit. I hung out with him in SF and that's all we talked about - Detroit and all the unknown cats only Detroiters know about. Do you have his saxophone?

  • he gets all da women homie lol

  • No one has to tell me this guy is to jazz what hendrix was to rock "Blues in Orbit " yeah it's in another world ,F yeah!

  • Soft and full of soul. Great !

    A lot of thanks

  • anyone knows who the drummer is?

  • love this live version too...

  • Great song to transcribe for your standards

  • @mahbooty1 yes, just played by a guest lecturer in my daughter's class this week....a true standard

  • love his quiet notes, especially the motif 3,2,1,7,6,3,2

  • @nicolebhan what are those nuhmbahz?

  • Joe was(and is)in a class by himself. One of the most original tenors ever. Truly,a thinking man's tenor player, but with so much soul!!

  • Happy Drummer!

  • @rklionel2 id be happy aswell playing with joe henderson :P

  • cool

  • Otro que no se escucha un joraca!

  • joes will always be the man

  • Still new to Joe, but this cat is channeling something spiritual. I like how he doesn't seem to dig for, strive to, or regurgitate ideas. He's speaking from his spirit. Dig his phrasing of the head.

  • Hey McMuisek- It ain't wrong, it's called a natural 6th. Give it a try sometime.

  • noob

  • @McMuisek - there is no wrong notes in music buddy. If you made a song, and someone said there was a wrong note in it,but it was in fact what you made, would that make it a wrong note?

  • @ddogisacoolguy well actually i am wrong there, what with the chord changes n all but still...

  • @ddogisacoolguy But what if, when performing this music for said someone, you mistakenly play this particular note, hitting the one your listener would expect. Now it's a wrong note to you, but the right note to them!

  • @ddogisacoolguy Exactly. Music is what you want it to be, not what someone else wants it to be

  • JOE HENDERSON U ARE AWSOME U ARE 3rd ON MY LIST BUT YOURE STILL AWSOME

    1.Sonny Rollins

    2.John Coltrane

    3Joe Henderson

  • Hey! Where's Ayler?

  • my favorite guy

  • this is a show that makes Brazilian music

there is still much more bossa ...

  • Amazing! Joe Henderson is a god.

  • great joe and al foster is wonderfull

  • That damn 3sat channel got everything!

  • @yacoson jaja, cuestionando a a Al Foster. Se ve que no tocas batería. Y si sos baterista, peor todavia

  • Mükemmel teknik; mükemmel sanatçı idi. Allah rahmet eylesin.

  • superbo

  • Dont like it that much. Tought it should be better considering the artist.

  • Hi is a great tune. I have been looking for a transcription of the orginal Joe Henderson solo. Canm anyone help?

  • @johnhodges1 Step 1: Get the recording you want to transcribe. Step 2: Listen to it a bajillion times until you can sing along with the phrases. Step 3: Get the Amazing Slow Downer, or some other software that can change the tempo of a recording without altering the pitch, and... go!

  • these guys are not nearly sensitive/subtle enough for joe

    sorry

    crampin his style

  • I'm inclined to agree, the drummer especially. Joe was smokin' though, some of those lines were sublime.

  • Al Foster "cramping Joe's style"? Man, that's just too funny. Then why to you think he played with him so much? I mean...really...

  • controlled intensity

  • yes, you're right

  • I heard that he sounds totally different when he's off the microphone because he plays so soft.

  • @danbcarson dude he's been dead for like 13 years!

  • Mraz, Foster...my favourites ! Any more from this concert, please ?! Thank you !

  • is he playing on a soloist?

  • Yes!!!

  • yes, thats right. it's a soloist short shank.

  • I love this song, he plays quietly but with soul, you can just feel it if you listen for it.

  • You just heard a true master....

  • todo un maestro-.-.-. Sabe transmitir el mensaje.-..-

  • Joe had a wonderful, garrulous sound coming out of his horn.
