Never having lived in America, I can't compare numbers, but I can honestly say we still pay around the same price for products, most houses have at least two cars in the driveway and generally speaking I never find myself talking to Americans and thinking "Holy shit, you can afford THAT?" The same generally goes for most countries with socialized health care systems. Everyone pays for healthcare. We just pay in taxes what you pay in bills. But less of it.
That won't happen in America. Here, no one is denied health care, even if they're an illegal citizen. Even though you still have to worry about paying it, you will always get treated for whatever ails you.

Well bigger government can be better, because right now there are some hobo on the street needs health care and he can't get it. The reason, a couple CEO of a couple of medical company is to busy making money and not giving it out to the people that need it, while driving their Lamborghini. So yeah maybe we do need government health care. I agree with StarWarsPlace, you just like blacks to remain slaves and white people to be rich or to conserve the status of 1800s USA.

That is NOT true. There are hobos for many reasons and many people including myself take part in programs to feed the hungry. In November, guess how I spent three of my weekends off from school? Saturday was making tons of lunches with snacks and everything, thing Sunday was driving walking around New York to hand out the food to hungry poor people. Even if the reason why a lot of these people are poor is because they refuse to GET A JOB! And with the whole slavery thing...

health care is awesoem. i live in canada. i cut myself on a peice of medal and i get a tetnass shot i dont wait and die cus i cant afford it if you think free hospital trips is a good idea. go break ur leg and see what it's like not being able to afford to get it fixed. or realizing ur dads going to die because he cant afford a tetnas shot or a heart transplant. once you lose a lovedone because they couldnt afford treatment. then u can cry aboutn how a health plan sucks. until then shut ur trap!

Not as much as you'd think, actually. Never having lived in America, I can't compare numbers, but I can honestly say we still pay around the same price for products, most houses have at least two cars in the driveway and generally speaking I never find myself talking to Americans and thinking "Holy shit, you can afford THAT?" The same generally goes for most countries with socialized health care systems. Everyone pays for healthcare. We just pay in taxes what you pay in bills. But less of it.

That won't happen in America. Here, no one is denied health care, even if they're an illegal citizen. Even though you still have to worry about paying it, you will always get treated for whatever ails you.

@kingevil3 My uncles in-law DIED in Canada because the hospital they went to didn't have the right equipment, the bureaucracy didn't let them move her until she had a third stroke and died. A few hours after she died, A Chinese immigrant doctor came in in time for her to be evicted from the hospital room. That cost my family thousands of U.S. dollars. Don't go preaching about how Canada is awesome without looking at it deeper than a 6 liquid ounce bleed-out cut.
