  • I am selling Dell XPS m1730 World of Warcraft Edition Alliance laptop for $1100. There are no sings of wear and the laptop is in mint condition. Specs: Windows 7 Ulimate-64bit, Intel core 2 Duo, 2.6 Ghz processor, 4 GB DDR2, 200 GB HDD, 1GB Nvidia GeForce 8700M GT. Comes with all original CD's, Manual, Books, WoW music etc. Message me if you want pictures or want to buy.

  • yea I did see that on mine xps

  • Surprisingly you can get one of these laptops used for about 400 bucks on eBay now. And the overclock feature is only visible in the bios if you have the Penryn CPU, which most don't have. I have one of these hooked up to my huge flat screen. And now it acts more like a desktop. Great for gaming and Blue-Ray TV as well. I personally built mine from parts at under 200 bucks. And is the best system still out there for price, and gaming on the flat screen! A must have!

  • Who the hell uses a laptop for gaming?

  • @MyRandomReviews people that pay $3600 for a gaming laptop

  • @mibikin Wtf no we only pay 1100-1800 here u go full HD and crysis maxed out with 30-40 fps

  • 1) this video only pertains to the extreme intel cpu, not the others.

    2) yes this pc can rock COD black ops no prob (i have the t9300 and 8800gtx sli)

  • um I don't have that tab in preformance

  • dell lmfao

  • Weeeeee! Mine has been running solid at 3.4 ghz for over a year now!! Also has the dual 9890gtx 2gb vid card, 8GB RAM, RAID 0 drives and bluray burner!!

Best gaming laptop ever - if you have the right components in it and know how to manage your cooling system.

  • @MetalSlab

I realized this laptop was released quite a while ago, is it still considered to be a good gaming laptop? i mean, can it play most recent games like Call of Duty:Black Ops?

  • Is it safe to overclock Dell XPS M1730?

  • Any frequency you LIKE ? how stupid this instruction was indeed ! you M F idiot.

  • i cant do it :s

  • OMG i hate this computer!!!

  • I have a XPS M1710. However I do not have the OC option under the performance tab.

Is it just a matter of BIOS version, or is it not possible at all on this XPS or what?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance! :D

  • Yh i wanted to do this on mine, but i think you can only do it with the x9000=2.8ghz and in the bios you an take it up to 3.4ghz, i might buy an x9000 as an upgrade but they are pricey

  • i would never overclock a laptop atleast with a desktop you can swap out the damaged part when overclocking goes bad lol dells suck anyway. anyways usually when you oc you need to add cooling because the best used method of oc is to raise the core voltage of the proccesser yeah thats what dell wants you to do oc your laptop void your warranty so yo have to have them fix it or buy another one

  • I dont have any overlcock tab under performance tab in my bios. im running on the latest version a09 on my m1730. i think that it might only apply to the 2.8ghz model not my 2.4ghz model m1730. Something that the video maker/poster didnt bother to point out.

  • yes m2 that sucks

  • i tried what this video said, i cant cant overclock my m1730

  • That's cause dell doesn't allow overclocking u overpaid for your laptop u need a $1,000 cpu to over to 3.4 you could've bought the asus w90 and with any cpu u can over clock up to 40% and the w90 has the 4870x2 it simply vaporizes this new alienware machine and leaves it in the dust

  • @killeruio

you ca only overclock it when xou have a extreme edition cpu like the x9000

  • I cant overclock my m1730 by doing what the video said.

  • the first guy seems like a bit of an idiot. and they're saying that its done in the bios anyway? thats where you overclock the cpu in the first place!? wtf lol... i dont know many who use desktop third party software to OC anyway, its way to limited. There is nothing innovative about what they've done. All mobo's these days come equiped with an OC profile to increase speeds by a set %. though this usually sucks because if u want a decent OC you need to tweak and work abit

  • My processor goes up to 70c. How can I overclock? It will burn down!.

  • How can I oc my T8300 to 2.6 ? Should I ?

  • do you need a better cooling system

  • DAng i wich i duld clock my M1530

  • wtf? overclocking laptops will literally burn the cpu with that tiny ass heatsink

  • Nah, it runs pretty cool OC'd to 3.4GHz, trouble is the fans are like a mini tornado... Prime95 on both cores at 3.4GHz for a weekend, no probs. I bought one to replace my old Alienware, very heavy, short battery life, but immense processing power in something I can stick in a bag ;)

  • dunno why people are giving dunlrock a thumbs down, lappys do have shit / piss ass heatsinks and fans and overclock poorly, hes right

  • meh the 1730 has a pretty damn good cooling system.. a separate bid ass heatsink/fan for both the cpu/gpu.

  • big ass*

  • you wanna see a big ass heatsink google the gemin 2 thats a big ass heatsink

  • Whew... I was hoping I wouldn't have some complicated stuff to do when I overclock it.

I'm gonna get my Beast in May and I need to overclock so I can play crysis :D

    Thanks Dell and Youtube :-)

  • what about heat?

  • i dont have the cpu overclocking tab in the performance menu wtf?

  • did you get the cpu that allows the overclocking .... because I believe they only did it for the 2.8ghz processor and allows it to go up to 3.4ghz

  • how do u overclock?

  • Yes, only the 28 ghz processor. And to the person below this (retro1985), the video explains how to overclock it. Press F2 and it brings up the menu. Go down to performance, go to the overclock tab and slide it to whatever you want it to be at (up to 3.4GHz.

  • YESSS!!!!

  • lol that was ez.

    thank you, dell!

    (and youtube) >_>
