I can't speak for any of the other artists that played Sun City, but Laura Branigan received a lot of flack from the industry because of her choice, unlike the others. However, unlike the others Laura Branigan donated every cent from playing her Sun City shows to fight AIDS and Apartheid. Her philosophy was different, why not take the money and use it to fight the things that need fighting? I know many did not see it the same way though. But I find it interesting she received the most flack.
