Clubheads like electro and dubstep around North Carolina right now, but there's a strong, sudden shift towards trance and hardcore. HHC is ok mixed in if it's not really cheezy. Anything spiked with electro or trance is good. Look at DJ Dan's Lift 2 for inspiration on electro. I'd say this is hardcore with trance elements and would go down really well. But mind you that if you are in a hip-hop/rap dominated area like here the BPM will need to be slower for the average crowd

drum n bass aint a style of hardcore, they both came from old skool but then it split two ways. it went like happy hardcore 1 way and jungle the other way, drum n bass comes from jungle. mordern day hardcore (uk hardcore) and its sub genres as VILLNUS187 mentions, came from happy hardcore except gabber (and the other sub genre dutch music) which did come from old skool however it came from dutch old skool.
