wish it was clearer..it is the best instrumental version ever..can something be done to rectify this?...cry every time I watch this movie... which is often!
The ending of this movie was well thought out. It gives you a feeling that is describable. It sends shivers up your spine in a way that nearly makes you want to burst out into tears.
You have no idea how long I have been searching for this video -- THANK YOU for posting it!!! (I totally agree with you about it being "cut" from the CD!!)
ive been looking for this for the past day....... i thght it was eding of braveheart....then we were soldiers......... then by accident some website has a list of all the movies of what bagpipes are in
i think its also interesting, something I never knew, until i re-watched the film, is that one of his first parliamentary actions was to end the American War of Independence. It kind of shows a unique perspecive from the british government on how they viewed the war as unpopular and a waste of time. I also found it ineteresting because as Americans in school we were taught that both nations propsered. But in the beggar scene the film makers showed how a lot of british veterans went into poverty.
i love this movie and how william wilberforce was able to fight for something and not give up i'm proud to be scottish and if i lived and i met him i would have been along with him to stop the slave trade it was evil and one man truly saw that and that was william wilberforce
@TheJuggernaut1322 not true. The Irish played the bagpipes as well, just not the same bagpipes i.e. not Highland or Lowland pipes, but a particular kind native to Ireland. I'm sure you probably know this, but bagpipes used to be quite commonly played throughout Europe & the Middle East, but most of Europe forgot about them for some unknown reason. In the last few hundred years Scotland has the main stronghold of this traditional instrument, with Ireland probably a close second, although bagpipes
@TheJuggernaut1322 are most closely associated with Scotland, maybe in large part cos of the pipe band, which was an invention of the British Army for the Highland regiments. It was also used by some of the Irish regiments as well, but perhaps it became most strongly associated with the "Highland soldier" because of the distinctive dress and reputation for bravery (former rebel turned loyal servant of the British Empire). In any case, the way we play & listen to bagpipes now's quite different
@TheJuggernaut1322 from the pibroch, which is to be expected I suppose. And if you're talking about the 1st Scottish War of Independence, there were Irishmen in the English army, but none on the Scottish side. If you're talking about any other war, then it's probably not a Scottish v English war. Anyway, it's a great film & 1 thing it teaches is to treat your fellow human beings with dignity & respect.

Reminds me of the depiction of William Wilberforce in the movie "Amazing Grace". What a wonderful man/song/movie.

It seems that all the other videos of this are gone off YouTube.... I wonder why? This is one of the best movie endings of all time.
Any chance that you could edit this to include the graphics? It cut off too soon -- still, thank for posting.
