@pjo17 Its a good idea, but he usually just catches lots of little sunfish, so I've removed the barb from the hook to make it easier on the fish when we pull the hook out. The downside, is it makes it really easy for the fish to toss the hook out on their own. I wanted to make sure he could land this one to get to see what he caught before we released it.

i've never had any luck with hotdogs, i've caught a few little ones but i've got a 32 pounder which is the biggest one i've caught on a live 10 inch sagger hooked right before the tail. that seems to be the best for catching the bigger ones, for me at least.

Today I was out fishing and my friend accidentally broke my rod, but i didnt and dont care, because we are friends and we were having a good time. Good job on the catch.
