  • questa canzone è stupenda, l'ho ascoltata come uktima traccia nella prima puntata del telefilm LIFE, e con mia grande sorpresa ho visto che è cantata da LUI!! che già adoravo, protagonista del film ONCE.

if you love this song, let's see the film ONCE (2006), directed by John Carney... wonderfull!!

  • I remember this song from around 2008 i used it on my old IMEEM Account for a photo montage I did! Song Rocks!!

  • Beautiful. This song moves me. I can't explain the feelings I get from it, but it touches me to the core.

  • @bestbass42 except much more talented, oh and the singer knows how to sing OUT of studio as well.

  • @bestbass42 Better than snow patrol

  • i met him, hungout with him, in whelans, in dublin. he was just there... havin' a pint. we had a great talk, and a few drinks. i still dont believe my own luck. who goes to dublin and meets glen hansard? me... apparently.

  • @nicolevalette

Met him meself years ago in Kilkenny... back when the Frames were only starting.. aint he a sound chap out? Would love to meet him again, I highly doubt he would remember me (I mean how many people like us must he meet?), but hes just such a sound bloke and a total legend...

I'm goin to try and ignore the guy who referred to him as "that guy" and "the guy from once"... lol

  • @nicolevalette I've turned a lovely shade of green due to envy.

What an awesome experience fate provided you!

  • I prefer graham hopkins on the drums :P

  • Their songs are very sad, but i want to listen to it. In some situation you need those songs. Sometimes you get more sad, but you are able to think about it more clearly.

    greetz

  • I saw Swell Season in concert! They're soooooo dang goooood!

  • his name is glen hansard and his other band with Marketa is The Swell Season and both their albums are fucking fucking awsome

  • @nzoasisfan Do you know what album it's on? I've been trying to get it, but can't find it.

  • @Othelie The album is Burn the Maps

  • I love this song =)

  • Don't take it for granite.... Framess.

  • Great song!!. Saw them in DK some years ago they blew me away.. If you like this then check out "in every mirror" or "You" by INOUWEE:)

  • love =)

  • i still think this song once placed perfectly in the context of the scene

  • i love this band the frames rock!

  • life :))

  • Live (:

  • who's that girl?

  • love it in 'life'

  • @Nellia13 : I loved it too, it was such a great scene.

  • @MrWalterSullivan

Do u mean the one when Crews comes home in the first episode?

It would have been great if they'd have combined this song with the scene as Ted googles him and Crews remembers his previous life.

  • it was also gr8 scene:-))

  • @Lynx3106

    Yeah, that's what I meant ;)

    I don't see what you're talking 'bout ... What scene is it ? I can't remember ...

  • @MrWalterSullivan

It's not in the video, remember the scene where Ted tells Cruise that if you want to know something about somebody then you just have to google him. And then as Crews wants Ted to google him and Charlie remembers how he was sentenced. The scene was briliant.

It was in the first season, but i'm not sure which episode. I'll tell you when I'll find out which episode it was.

  • Episode 1 Season 1 mate

  • @Lynx3106 Yeah, yeah, of course, yeah, I see ! I'm sorry, as I'm French, I wasn't sure about the meaning of "google", but yeah, now I see ! It's in the first episode of the first season, just before this final scene with this music of The Frames ! But I think this scene had been a little bit too short to put the music there, and we don't see enough parts of Charlie's life to be really permeated by the context ...

  • @Nellia13

yeah, me too. it's definately awesome in Life, probably because Life itself is more than just awesome.

  • beautiful song! glen is awesome! :)

  • I'd love to see The Frames live someday. I know Glen is quite busy with his solo projects right now but, come on, a new tour would really make my day. Fantastic song, by the way!

    Greetings from Spain!

  • well the band that plays with him is basically the frames and they do play a few frames songs. if they are heading your way i say still go see them. you wont be dissapointed

  • eek....seems like the dude offed his ex with his car and is singing about it afterwards. mmm....pleasant. Cool song in any case. Reminds me of Mew just a tad

  • cool band i first seen them when i was 14 in marley park brillant gig anyone at it thinks its about 5 years now

  • I was there, he started playing the Blowers Daughter near the end and Damien Rice came out to finish it, it was a smashing gig, I've been to my fair share of concerts over the years and it ranks up there, great night

  • 1:30

  • Oh yeah. That's a sweet chord.

  • wow like Rory Gallagher

    both musical genuises from Ireland

    yet both so underrated.

  • something like jazzrock / Good!

  • Beautiful song!

  • good song

  • haunted by love lost ?

  • i dont get the video!

  • This song makes me cry and I don't really know why.

  • @bobina05 me too, I just look out the window, and I look at the sky durimng the climax, and I feel it coursing through me the way alcohol might do, slightly numbed, slighly happy, overwhelmingly lost....

  • Wow breath gone !!!!

  • ha ha thats exactly what i said!!!!!!!! beautiful!!!

  • great song... the lyrics in the song are very different from those on the bands official page by the way... I'm guessin the ones on the website are the ones they meant to sing and he ended up recording it with slight variations... plus they sound much better here

  • This should be the real thing(excuse me if my english is not so good after all)...By the way..this is my favourite song:)along with "all the way down"

  • I got furious when I looked up the lyrics on google. Every fan submitted variant is sooo horrendously wrong it's an insult :L

He says "Conceding" not "contending" and most definitely NOT "conending"- don't even ask what the fuck that means!!

Whew...just had to vent the rage...

  • I KNOW. Will someone please post the correct and full lyrics somewhere?

  • dude it's conceited "there's a fight, we're not conceited"

  • Sounds more like conceding to me bro... and would make a hell of a lot more sense.

  • no its not! K2armada is right, its conceding! It doesnt make enough sense if it was "theres a fight, er'tr not conceited"! what does being conceited have to do with having a fight?

  • Holy shit!!! When the drums came in and the big sustained pedals and all that!! Wow!!

This song is a killer. Sooooo good.

  • Glen looks like House!

  • LOVE Glen, he's an amazing person, too. He actually spent 15 minutes talking to a group of us in the rain after their concert!

  • @MusicIsMyLifeNC

ur lucky dude........this guy has suffer smewhere in his life........he really deserves whatever he is now...

  • awesome song

  • this song is classic

  • semplicemente meravigliosa....wonderfullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll1^^

  • 1:38 to the end is pure bliss. "Take us under naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaow"

  • glen hansard is so fucking sexy.

  • "... and every time i caught you leaving, i had to dream awake, i had to dream awake..."

This is so true for me... without the woman I love in my arms at night, I have to dream awake - only love dares to inveigh my insomnia.

  • Love this song.

  • YEA GLEN!!! Oh and if you didn't know this already Glen has another band called "Swell Season" Both of em rock!

  • nah, his other band is And, And, And. you're right though, they do rock!

  • he's in Swell Season too. they made that movie Once about it.

  • I was just kidding; it was a Commitments reference. Once is a terrific film.

  • I met that guy in one pup.I didnt expected he will play there. Many songs he played, but what was wonderfull, when he took the bassguitar and play Debaser from Pixies. Than we takled about lots of think. Few weeks after he get the Oscar. I got luck to met him. Great guy, Marketa is right too.

  • Pretty simple video with a single nice concept, but it's lack of powerful energy for the song to captivate as a whole. The mere song's thrilling, chilling and heart-touching. Love The Frames and Glen & Markéta, though.

  • Glen Hansard gots a Oscar together with Marketa Irglowa, best film music by the film once. Great film, great music.

  • Awesome band. He got an Oscar didn't he.

  • Apparently i've been living under a rock. loved "once" , but never bothered to check out the Frames. I am a complete ASS ! Holy Jesus on a pony , great tune!!!Now if you'll excuse me< I must go download EVERYTHING from this band!!

  • I feel like this guy is standing next to me and singing this song righ to my ear...magic

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • wonderful song

  • the frames é muito bom! há tempos que não conhecia uma banda tão boa... excelente!

  • bellissima canzone

  • I can't stop listening to it! It's wonderful and engaging...

  • LIFFEEEE. This show owned that end of the episode, amazing!

  • OMG it's this guy? Holy cow. I've loved this song since I heard last year on the TV show "Life". It took me forever to find it, and it's by the guy from "Once". That's awesome. Saweet.

  • Best Oscar speech ever he was so overcome and then Markéta's was beautiful and heartfelt also.

  • @hunnerday I heard it on there too!!! Since I noticed that they were repeating the words "dream awake" a lot, I ended up typing it into iTunes and found it.

  • @lamerox13

I found it in a few seconds ;)

just google it: "for all the time i came home screaming + lyrics"

    I love this song ! :)

  • @hunnerday

i swear i was just about to write the same exact thing! literally! from "life" (why is that show over?!?!)

but it took me longer, i just found it a couple months back.

  • @hunnerday Glen Hansard.

  • @Rikuji20 Do you know what album it's on? I've been trying to get it, but can't find it.

  • @Othelie track 3 on the album Burn the Maps. Picking it up at Barnes & Noble next chance I get

  • Love this song !!!!!

  • this is fucking awsome! the frames.. where the fuck have i been.....

  • I know what you mean! How have I made it so long without listening to them?!LOL

  • Seeing as how you have just heard of this band you should check out Once, a movie featuring the lead singer of this band, (the guy in the video) where its a sort of musical with him singing a few songs.

  • I actually saw Once first. That's how I heard of them. I love that movie, but thanks!

  • u're damned right , saw the once movie , amazing

  • I really don't like the vid, as it makes me sad, but I love the song.

  • almost every video made by frames makes you sad... one of the things i love about them

  • No I disagree. Their songs don't make me sad, they make me feel. Sadness at times, but often love, longing, joy and more.

  • Well... their songs give me hope, a beautiful sound reminding you that everything will be alright!

  • @womanatwittsend they make me feel a feeling i cant even explain but i get it whenever i hear or do something amazing

  • @wackjack10 If you're referring to that chill that runs through you body at times, I've come to decide that's my soul/higher self telling me to pay close attention, for whatever is occurring is a gift which merits your full and complete attention.

Glens music does often elicited that response.

  • hmm... its amazing...

  • The Frames are amazing, I love this video. Incredible.

  • so handsome!

  • Amazing song, and the video was so well done, there was absolutely no movement (except Glen moving his hands in the car and the girl standing up), everything was just different camera angles.

  • amazing glen!amazing voice!amazing frames!

  • this is a great song, i think i cried hearing it. it's very intense.

  • There is something so intense and beautiful about this song. I can listen to it again and again.

  • check out the frames - revelate. my favourite song of theirs

  • looks like Dave Farrell from Linkin Park.

great song... found it on Life. really really great, on repeat is where its at. thanx for the upload.

  • Damn, his voice is awesome

  • i love thins song to death. Awesomeness in the extreem

  • haha yes asomeness in the extreme!

    really great band

  • Awesome song!

    I discovered on Life.

I got hooked and put it on all my playlist's.

    ^_^

    Great band too.

  • is this the song on LIFE on NBC? at the very end of the show they played some bad ass music and some people say it was this but it dosent sound like it at all

  • You can start by learning the correct band name.

  • Yeah, that's where I heard this song for the first time too. Not bad, I must say.

  • Yes this the song from Life. As a matter of fact if you watch the end of the episode when the music comes on it will say "Dream awake" in subtitles because it is owned by the Frames.

  • they are called the frames

  • The Frames are wonderful!!!

  • i love the frames...how could u not!

  • Love the frames. Best live band around. Glen has the ability to pick you up and carry you on a small little journey with him for the few hours when his on the stage.

  • ....awesome song...the start is slowly getting you till it explode, right !

  • I saw them 2 days ago, and they were great!!

  • Excelente...

  • frames are amazing, new album in my viewpoint was below average for their talent musically was not impressed.

  • Maybe that's what still makes The Frames so good- because most people haven't discovered them! For the fans it's almost like a little secret they treasure amongst themselves, something that maybe we don't want everyone else to discover and love like we do. Look what happened to Green Day!

I believe Glen himself said he was glad they hadn't reached that internationally acclaimed, famous band like most others, because he too feaed it would interfer with the music.

  • exactly my point. The difference between most bands and the Frames is that they connect with every crowd individually. I mean ofcourse they have a standart act but if you scream PLAY SAD SONGS!!! or something they'll actually do it most of the times. Thats what makes them so great, their shows are not like a tape that you play over and over and over again. Each one is unique.

  • I totally agree with you. i mean the last gig I was at with them they had the whole crowd stand up (it was a seated gig, and how weird was that?!) and sing Devil's Town.

Although in saying it, the live cd, Setlist, is EXACTLY how thwey play it live, so I suppose they're one of those bands who are opposite to the norm. They don't play songs the way they are on the cd, but a live cd captures exactly what it's like to hear them live.

  • Exactly, at the and of Dance the Devil your hear a song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but at one gig they did it at the end of Falling Slowly. Also, they played No Woman No Cry, which was amazing and for a bunch of white irish guys, they didnt do so bad. I must admit that Hansards stories before or after a song are quite amusing and full of irish humor.

  • The Frames Rock!!

  • Great song, great video!!

  • THe Frames rock, I love this song!!!

  • Burn the Maps is awesome, indeed. I love every song from start to finish. Listening to it through headphones is amazing ...

  • the frames are legends, best irish group ever. keep going lads

  • Yeah. The Frames can really construct a song. This video really intensifies the movement rather than mocking it or blurring it with too much visual. One of my favorite songs on the album (Burn the maps). Thanks.
