  • What an incredible feeling; I know that no matter how many great bands I find, or amazing songs I hear, none will even remotely compare with how amazing and special Lush is. To know that you've found the greatest band you will ever hear for your entire life is an incredibly comforting and surreal feeling that words cannot fully express. God I love Lush so much!

  • One of the greatest songs ever.

  • This song is the aural equivalent of making love with a beautiful woman. :-)

  • 5:56 the bass player blows it. don't get me wrong he is great up until that point, but I think he went in the wrong direction here...the progression he was playing before supported emma perfectly, maybe he thought things were getting boring if he didn't try something new but I just wanted more of what was already happening, and I suppose the rest of the band agreed...wish they hadn't, because up until that point the song is close to perfection...and I could listen to 4:04 to 5:54 for hours...

  • This is so good..

  • I've always adored this song, and how "Lit Up" comes after it :D

  • still love you Emma

  • Love you Emma...

  • FUCK! I can't believe how much I love this band. Been listening since I was 7 in 1992 and I can't get enough ever since. I listen to them damn near daily.

  • "Only children sometimes comprehend

Loneliness can often be a friend"

How much I understand this ...

  • Emma's playing was never technically brilliant- none of the thousand notes per second, hey- everybody- look - at- me- I'm- a- guitar- player shredding that my favorite metal bands always indulge in- but she's always emotionally perfect, playing the exact right chord for the feeling of the song. This song is possibly her best showcase. No dis to Miki, whom I adore, but most of my favourite Lush songs are Emma's.

  • THIS IS AN ALL TIME POP ANTHEM.. AND CLASSIC...... WE THE ONES WHO LIKE ONLY THE BEST MELODIES ENJOY WITH BANDS LIKE THIS..

  • "....and I love her...."

  • The most gorgeous Lush song. An anthem...

  • No no no! Cocteau twins was a different thing! :)

  • @Tsoublication the influence of cocteau twins and other bands in lush is obvious........

  • I always thought Lush was better than the Cocteau Twins. Just a personal opinion. Beautiful song.

  • Beautiful. Yes their best...

  • Unique rhythm. Sounds more like from the 80s. THis is the first song I'm hearing from them. This song has sort of a relaxing moaning. But it's kinda soothing.

  • One of the best Lush songs IMHO.

  • 'split' was their best and this song brings back memories of being 15,as I was hugely into them back then, such a beautiful song..

  • I had to point out to friend "No, that's two guitars at the end, intertwined with one another." I interviewed Emma and Chris (RIP) after they released the album after this, and I told them a few times Split was better. At the time I could tell they really were not fond of hearing that. I hope they realize now that the album Emma said took so much work and time to do - Split - was worth it. It completely stands the test of time. This song is incredible.

  • I walked Jacksonville beaches at night singing this song. I'ts a great song!!!

  • triste y bonita

  • One of my favorite Lush songs... I listened to them all last weekend while driving the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina...

  • I don't care if I sound "emo" or whatever, but this song makes me really well up. There are no words to describe how brilliant Lush are as a band and as people.

  • beautifully sad

  • I totally agree with you

    fatcatbuzz ! :)

  • This song has a sad vibe to it. Split is definately my favorite album. But, then again all of their albums are great. I can't get enough of this group and they were definately one of the best bands on 4AD records.

  • They have a very, very strong late 1960's and early 1970's Beach Boys vibe.

  • Best song off of Split. I'm glad someone posted it here before I had to.

  • This is the greatest guitar workout ever writtin by women. Period. Fifteen years later and I still have to hear it on a semi-regular basis.

  • Hmmm...wrote that two years ago, and still I'm back. HATE that I mispelled "written" though...LOL

  • excellent, up there with their best.

  • I think it's their best song... :)

  • Agreed.... :)

  • This song is incredibly beautiful & ethereal.

'Lush' was at their best on 'Split.'

  • Personally, I though Spooky was, but Split is still awesome.

  • I agree. Split is my favorite, though they are all wonderful albums.
