  • 1969, I was a 10 year old autograph seeker waiting in Gasoline Ally during practice. All of a sudden here comes A. Foyt, He walks directly up to me and say's hi kid grabs the program from my hands and signs boldly away! Still awaiting patiently! My moment has arrived. Here comes Mario. My heart is pounding away! I run up to him saying his name! He looks directly into my eyes & throws his hands up in the air and blows me off! Then 2 young Chicks nxt to me say Mario Romeo, He smiles and signs away

  • Also the first (and I believe only) win for Clint Brawner, one of the great mechanics of that era.

  • my favorite race car driver, of all times,

  • While Mario has had little but bad luck at Indy since then, I hardly doubt that he'd trade the incredible career that he's had (Indy 500 winner, Daytona 500 winner, 2nd most Indy car victories, four Indy car titles and a Formula 1 title) for one more Indy win. No disrespect to A.J. Foyt but Andretti, in my opinion, is the greatest driver ever.

  • @SIGMAMAN69 i can almost guarantee that mario would trade his F1 title for another indy win. really only drivers can understand that

  • Lloyd Ruby should have won the 69 race.

  • @Gotyler5

Yeah, he should have and deserved it after starting in the 7th row.

His tough luck there prevailed but what a guy.

  • @Gotyler5 thats Indy for ya.....

  • Grande Andretti orgoglio d'italia

  • MI HAI RUBATO LE PAROLE

  • "40 years ago, Mario Andretti tasted the ultimate triumph, winning his only 500, his son Michael has lead the most laps at Indy, but never won, today third generation Marco Andretti comes to Indy being part of the 2nd closest finish in 500 history in 2006, and today looks to join Grandpa Mario, and etch his likeness in Sterling Silver" Just a section of my Delta Force Intro for 2009

  • I want Lola and Panoz back. Please give the next generation some freedom like Maurice Philippe had with the four-wheel drive Lotus 64 Ford.
