Owned this beast like 7 years now and she still treats me great! Works fine, as metal is hard to hurt without some other metal to hit it against. Had to tune it 3 times now, and paid well for it, but my favorite thing goes everywhere i do, and fancy case or no she collects some dings. Secondly i love playing the hang hard! The only cost to the instrument is periodic tunings and i get such diverse sounds out of it. I've made plenty of videos of lightly tapping and scales but no one watches those!

I'm not arguing the music he makes is bad. Hell, I agree some of his moves are original. But they are at expense of the health of an instrument that was hand-crafted with love, an instrument thousands of people are waiting in line to get, some of them for years.

Two years after this video of i was shot. Have spent more time with my hang then with any living human. Still have the same hang, have had it retuned by the makers twice now. I play it hard so it needs it. The hang, as a new instrument, has no traditional way of being played. All of us who travel with one are exploring the methods and expanding the envelope of technique and ability. My hang is my favorite thing.

this years allotment is about 1700 euros, which is a little over $2400. And that's not including the plane ticket and lodging and food while you're there. 2 different Hanghang (pl) recently sold on Ebay for $9000+!!!! Believe me, if this cat new how sensitive to de-tuning and how much these things are worth now, he'd be a little easier on it for sure. Still sounds cool though! But I still wouldn't do that to mine, too hard to get, and to hard to retune!
