  • To ItchyCoight............Cool name!

  • My mother had a photo of the Nogoa flowing over the upstream rail of the railway bridge and under the other rail. About 1953.

I recall it being almost as high as in your clip in about 1959. We lived in Theresa Street, not far from Hospital Road, high and dry.

Look for "Beyer Garrats Round the World" on YouTube for Rocky & Emerald in early 50's

  • Only flooding like this can remove the chemical spray from the cotton crops. Maybe the waterways will be inhabited by fish, yet again.Cotton ruined your area. Oh wait, now they grow our food crops in the chemically overloaded soils now. For the wellbeing of my child, I'd never live even NEAR Emerald ever again!!

  • hmm yes yes disgraceful.

  • wow you really have no idea do you??

  • I have no idea? Do you think I've never been there before? Don't you think I know a bit about the area? What voice of experience do you have? Or you loving expressing your ignorance??

  • What the hell are you on about, you have no idea what you're talking about!

  • maybe you should report this important issue to your local council

  • yep for us everything is back to normal thank you god for sparing us.

  • gr8 video, to think i was taught to water ski on this dam many moons ago, i now live in the UK, hope the water has subsided now, take care all

  • We live just outside Emerald and never even knew there was a flood or the dam have gone over.

  • Cool Video, fantastic name. . .ItchyCoight! Ha! That's awesome!

  • Well at least youll have water for a while, that should keep you guys happy, you should send some west to perth!

  • I cant beieve the main bridge into town is flooded that is high as that bridge. i hope school is canceled!!!

  • The dragline is at Ensham mine which is totally flooded. I flew over there on Sunday and have photos of the flooded mine and the submerged dragline.

  • Awesome vid, could do with some run off like that in SEQ. I seen a clip on the news of a flooded dragline anyone tell me where it was?

  • People here (Charleville) have garbage bags and stickytape to stop the Warrego River wonder if that will work? That damn must be letting out some water!!

  • Nice to see my home town finally getting some water. I remember well last time the river flooded, before the new bridge was built I had to go into the town by train with the water only 2 feet under the train bridge. My old man also sent me out into the river to put a rope around a tree so he could net fish. I was only 14 at the time. he he.

Thanks for taking the time to record and upload.

  • RECKON YOUR GOIN' TO NEED A BOAT SOON

  • Damn...HAHA...The bloody thing does work!!!!

  • Awesome. We were out there about the same time today. Saw a big brown snake down near the boat ramp. Its all happening in Emerald! Who said it was a dry old hole?

  • Hehehe. Same up here in Mt Morgan. The dam has not gone over yet (about a metre to go), but has taken the road that run alongside it underwater.

  • there were about 1000 people waiting for fairbairn to go over. sounds like you can't even get to yours

  • Typical mt morganite. Hahahahaha

  • wow
