@Zac88GT I recently bought a cadillac deville (2001) and all I really want to do is make it a manual transmission. I found this transmission on craigslist, the getrag f23, is that a good tranny? Also how would I go about doing as in like where the pedal goes, how to install that, or how I would get the stick in the center etc? I have been curious about this for a while
Did you do all the work yourself? That's amazing for $3000. I think just a basic Archie kit, not even counting the SBC and transmission and other things, is $3000. Any chance you have a write-up somewhere?
what is "just N/a" supposed to mean, i see you told someone it was just the dino.. you know with the new xlrV out you can put a supercharger on that thing and boost the stock hp and tq by about 100 a piece
It's naturally aspirated, as in no forced induction of any kind. I am going to put some bigger fuel injectors in this winter and maybe a set of cams in the next year or two but thats pretty much it. It's built for autocross and not drag racing so it has more than enough power right now.
Final HP was 300.5whp and torque was 312 ft lbs. I'll be heading back to the dyno again soon since i've made bigger better headers, increased compression, stiffer valve springs, ported and polished the head, and switched to a 6 speed trans.
And if it got any kind of boost, then how well would it do?

@V8Fiero2M8 With low boost the northstar would easily achieve 500+whp. If you fully build them 1000+hp is possible.

Traditional Pontiac V8 > Northstar>SBC
the engine food chain. Pontiac eats ALL.

That's a really cool setup. I've heard of putting northstars in Fieros, but really cool with the 6 speed..

whats the 6spd trans you ahve bolted up?? whats the MPG u get with that car when you arent going all out..rough estimate
proflashrtist 3 years ago
The 6 spd is the F40 trans from a 2006 Pontiac G6. Average city mileage is around 19 MPG. I'm not sure about hwy mileage but it's probably 28-30

Does it sound noisier than the radio inside the car? what is the quarter mile time? 0-60?
SimpleMind74 4 years ago
You can still hear the radio fine. Haven't had the chance to take it down the 1/4 mile but it does 0-60 in ~4.0 seconds

What were the final HP and torque results.
I am curious as I am in the middle of the same swap.
