What did the brunette singer do behind Taylor's back at 2:45? You can barely hear her whisper something like, "It's OK." I noticed that she had touched Taylor's earpiece transmitter when they hugged, so maybe she had accidentally turned it off. But Taylor didn't seem to be having any trouble hearing or singing her own notes, so maybe that explanation doesn't make sense. Does anyone know how that equipment works, so you can give an answer?

I absolutely adore this song. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan, and I won't claim to be after this, but the way this song was put together, and just how well all three of them sing it, with the harmonies and simply acoustic work, it's undeniably gorgeous. A perfect fit for the movie it was intended for.

She's not struggling to hit the high notes... she actually overshoots a couple times, I agree she went sharp... she's trying not to overwhelm the song by backing off. it's a natural tendency to get louder the higher you sing.

I think her live performance suffers because of her need to keep the crowd entertained, and here she didn't have to do that, the audience for The Civil Wars is a much more mature crowd, so it's not necessary for to jump around and stuff like it is when she's doing solo stuff or even her guest appearances with Hayley Williams and Paramore.
