  • did't any one tell you that bass' can destroy your guitar amp ?

  • your fucking melting my face!! awesome video dude

  • @TheImpossibleninja Haha, I'm happy you're impressed! I should definitely record more bass for my new channel (the one I'm posting this comment on)

  • 0:30 Muse - Hysteria ^_^

  • that classical guitar looks scared shittless

  • Awesome

  • You are REALLY REALLY awesome, but some of the songs you play have to many notes in rapid succession to sound good with that much distortion.

  • @ChickenVendetta Thanks, I'd like to think I've improved over the past three years though! Maybe I should record more bass stuff for this channel :)

And I realise this now, the amount of distortion in this video is just horrendous :P

  • You're gonna fry your amp doing that, but goood bass covers tho

  • sounds good. butta what equipment are you using?

  • OMG OMG OMG electric guitar ! lol

  • What's that 0:31riff from?

  • @Addiction747 It's Muse - Hysteria

  • @Addiction747 Indeed, it is Hysteria by Muse.

  • nice playing but not my style

  • for whom the bell tolls+hysteria are played originally with distortion... but metropolis sounds great!

  • Kinda spiky tbh

  • @sEaNoYeAh

Yeah, its a bit sharp, and your technique is clicky and harsh, tidy it up and you will soudn 100 times better, right now, that wouldn't work with a band, and it doesn't really work on its own, would cut in a solo type thing, and you were out of time for the Muse stuff, but i liked your number of the beast:)

Oh and Your For Whom the bell tolls was wrong, as was your metropolis part one tapped solo But it was good 4 finger tap, that has to be said, (yes i am very critical)

  • @AttitudeCastle Haha, I don't mind the criticism, I know this isn't anywhere near my best stuff, I have another couple of years under my belt now :)

  • @RyanTheMusicMan001

Yeah! I would love to see a video of some distorted grind with your Traben Pheonix 5-string ;)

  • @AttitudeCastle I had a nice cover of A Rite Of Passage on here, I used my JamVOX to spare my guitar amp and make some different distortions, but sadly WMG claimed it :(

  • @RyanTheMusicMan001

It must have been so good, it was too close to the orginal and WMG claimed it haha, clearly!

  • you are aweeeesome.

  • Why thankyou :)

  • @RyanTheMusicMan001 i wanna do this but will it mess up my bass or amp?

  • @DemolitianBoy666

it will definitely not mess up your bass, but maybe your tweeter if you have one in your bass amp

  • my guitar amp hurts just from listening

  • that was an entertaining 3:52sec. Great playing.

  • OMG Plug in Baby is like the guitar

  • is this bass sound ok if you use a pick?

  • Yeah, sure does :)

  • cool, do you know if it sounds better with a pick than the jazz bass? i'm torn between the two

  • I think precision basses are more commonly played with picks (for the punk-style playing) and jazz basses are more fingerstyle funk, etc.

Nothing to stop you playing with a pick on either though, haha.

  • haha, i went for jazz bass in the end

  • if ur playing out of a guitar amp then thats bad it will mess up ur amp its best to get a bass amp and get a distortion pedal for it :)

  • dont you need adifferent amp for a bass? hmmm. nice playin anyway

  • Yeah, I was just messing around :)

  • plug in baby was sorta messed up

    YYZ sounded amazing.

  • Thanks, I can play both much better now :)

  • AWESOME man, the way you play plug-in baby

  • What Line 6 Spider III do you have?

I have both a Line 6 Spider III 15 watt, and 75 watt.

  • The 15 watts one :)

  • for whom the bell tolls!

  • Isn't plugging a bass into your guitar amp's gonna mess up the amp?

  • I don't see how, it's always been fine :)

  • no, because of the low frequencies you bass will blow you guitar amp if you plug it into your guitar amp dude. so don't do that.

  • Hate to tell you, kid, but it won't be for long. Guitar amps aren't meant to handle frequencies that low.

  • yes it will cause of the frequencies

  • only if its really powerful...those crappy practice amps are all the same...if you plug a bass into a 100watt Halfstack that will fuck it up

  • HYSTEIA N PLUG IN BABY!!! ye m8 u rock i love muse :)

  • Awesome :D

  • GREAT!!!

  • Thank you :D

  • Go bass! Dude keep rocking you are great! Who's your bass idol?

  • John Myung :)

  • what's the maiden riff??

  • Number of the Beast

  • i would advise against plugging a bass into a guitar amp

  • Why's that?

  • the low frequency audio produced by the bass guitar can damage the guitar amplifier

  • Really? I thought the speakers could handle bass frequencies

  • do you really want to risk your spider III, i use to have the half stack, it's a pretty nice amp for what it is and especially how much it costs. if you're really into line six, check out the Line 6 LD series bass amps, they're not bad, you won't get that kind of distortion on it, but you can always use a stomp box. just a regular guitar stomp box too... it's cheaper in the long run

  • I wanna get something like a Boss MB-20 or MB-50 when I get the money, or even just a single distortion pedal, I guess this is just a distortion fix xD

But yeah, I agree, I love my Spider III, it's a top amp.

  • dude, you can't go wrong with the boss multi-effects line but if you go the singular pedal route, check out those crazy mod pedals with the two pedals like the CE-20 or the RE-20, if the effect seems out of time with what you're working on, you can tap the other pedal to sync, just thought i'd throw that in

  • yea get the Boss ME-50B! i got it a couple weeks ago and it sounds great! its fun to play with and it has great distortion sounds on it! and the ME-50B has a lot more total effects than the ME-2B so i'd say get that one! its worth the extra $100! oh by the way great playing :D the YYZ and Metropolis were great :O

  • Haha, thanks for your advice :)

And I'm better at YYZ now, haha

  • The sound is good!! but do you need a plumber to repair the pipe of the water? hahaha... regards from Italy

  • Thanks :)

And haha, well spotted, we were actually having a new boiler and radiators fitted in the house, so we've had all the old piping out :)

  • Oh sorry ignore that last question, forgot to read description.

  • Haha, no problems.

  • I love the distortion on Rush, any of these can be taken as an awesome bass solo, great job.

    What bass are you using?

  • Thanks a lot :)

  • ALL AROUND THE WORLD:D

  • Yep :)

  • MUSE!! =]

  • Yep :D

  • Top man! :D Maybe you should do another video like this with your Traben bass! :)

  • sounds cool

    play anesthesia, please!

  • Haha, maybe someday xD

  • Erm, If I get the chance, I will, it's really not that hard when you've got the left hand position right.

  • Do you have a distortion pedal for your bass? or is it on the the amp???Or are you using a guitar amp??

  • Using a guitar amp for this one, a Line 6 Spider III

  • I always thought that i would brake my guitar amp by plugging my bass because its active, and thats exactly what happened :( hehe.

just kidding, i switch it to passive and then played ;)

  • Does it break your amp if you play an active bass through it? 0.o

Because some guitar circuits are active, aren't they?

  • active wiring or pickups will not effect your amp, atall...

  • Okay, thanks :) lol

    Didn't think they did...

  • what watt :) is that bass amp coz i have bass and my amp kinda sucks, i was just wondering what would be good

  • My bass amp's an Ashdown Five Fifteen, and it's 100W. I think it's pretty good as a large practice/small venue amp. In this video I was actually using my guitar amp, a 15W Line 6 Spider 3. the sound on it's awesome, especially on the 'insane' setting (Y)

  • You should try playing a Metallica song (preferably from the first three albums) with that distorted bass.

  • Doesn't sound like a bad idea that :)

Master Of Puppets/Enter Sandman with a tone like that...

  • Also, if you want the same "distortion", instead of using a guitar amp, get a bass amp with an effects pedal, maybe something like a Morley Power Wah (Cliff used one of them, not sure if they;re discontinued though).

  • I know, I just don't have a distortion pedal at this moment in time, it was just an idea I had.

  • do u need a compatable computer for a pedal and do they all make the same sounds?

  • No, no computer needed, you just need an extra lead (you need one lead going from bass into pedal, and one out of the pedal into your amp), they're battery powered.

And they each have their own sound - just pick the one you think sounds good!

  • NO NO NO!!! for whom the bell tolls

  • Hehe, I'll have to have another go at covering that with that tone ;)

  • ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT JINX THE MAIDEN! THOU SHALL NOT JINX THE MAIDEN! DISTORTED BASS ON MAIDEN SHALL NOT BE PLAYED WITHOUT THE IMMINENT JINXING OF THE BAND, AND THEIR IMMEDIATE BREAKUP, AND THE BAND MEMBER'S MISERABLE YEARS OF DRUNKEDNESS AND COUNSELING FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

The rest of the covers were good though =].

  • Haha, glad you liked the covers.

I honestly hadn't heard of any of these jinx things before now, I'm sorry if I offended you xD

  • love the hysteria cover awesome i play guitar but i like bass just as much

  • Thanks :)

My primary instrument is actually piano, I've only been learning bass for the past year and a bit.

    It's a great instrument though :)

  • impressive...u played the guitar riff of plug in baby on bass...thats pretty awesome

  • Thanks :D

  • Bud, that tapping riff at the start is SICK. Good work.

  • Thanks a lot, dude.

Incase you didn't know, it's the bass solo in Metropolis Pt.1 by Dream Theater.

One of my personal favourites :)

  • Don't do that man. This multiffects aren't that good. Get a single effect instead and work with it.

  • Okay, thanks for your advice.

I do like the look of the Ashdown James LoMenzo Hyperdrive :)

  • Man, I love the sound of a bass with distorition. I spent months trying to find the right one for me. Now I use a digitech bass overdrive and a hartke bass attack. Man, it just blows my mind.

  • Awesome :D

I wanna get a Boss Multi Effects Unit for my birthday, the distortions on that sound pretty amazing.

  • haha this is too funny my name is ryan i play the bass and i can playy all of those songs keep owning the bass man every bassist should be called ryan

  • Oh, wow :)

Pleased to meet another bass-playing Ryan (Y)

    Thanks for the compliment.

    Keep rocking (Y)

  • the pleasure is all mine :)

  • Cheers dude.

    :)

  • I thought it meant "Fuck The World", haha!

  • Haha maybe technically it should be 'Fuck The What', but y'know ;)

  • nice what does ftw mean ?

  • Ftw = For The Win

Just use it if something's pretty awesome, that's what I do :D

    Thanks for the comment

  • dude, youre pretty good.

  • Thanks alot :)

  • lol show off :P only joking mate!! nice bassing!!!!

  • Thanks :)

  • Pie i can honestly say i fucking love this video
