  • Oh snap!! Who are these British guys in Billy Gibbon's living room???!!! LOL

  • Matchless will never compare with bogner

  • you can buy a nice car for that. that's just stupid

  • way too much money for this amp. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • that's a private stock prs, im jealous

  • Righteous tone.

  • God, What an AMP.....This is pure bliss of tube tone......Amazing Dynamics.....

  • Not really feeling anything overly special about this amp other than its price. Some of the models in my line 6 pod hd sound better and that cost me under $400 bucks. Don't get me wrong, I love tube amps, Ihave a really expensive Fryette sig x but this matchless is overpriced for its average sound.

  • Great vid! Which distortion pedal are you using to get the metal sound towards the end?

  • Just bought a 6 month old lightning reverb single 12. My new best friend.

  • 1:24 BEAVIS!!

  • Hey chappers you are an inspiration to me bro i love your playing style! Keep on rockin~

  • That is the exact guitar I am going to buy this year, except for the one I have seen and played recently was a 25th anniversary I believe and it had binding on the neck and body. Beautiful! I am just debating between a privatestock 24 or the 25th anniversary 513. I don't know much about the 513 pickups system as far as the pickups go but it sounded amazing! But I really love they're pickups in the custom 24's and all do coil tap. Decisions.

  • how do these compared to the heritage series handwired vox like the vox ac15h1tv

  • SO MANY PRS!

I also like how you have a Valve Jr. in that huge collection of Matchless and H&K.

  • this or any other matchless amp with a prs like that one is possibly the best combination there is. sounds INCREDIBLE.

  • I am patiently waiting for the California State Lottery to sponsor all my equipment ! :) LOL! sheessshhh...I want 'em all !! Hehehe!!

  • The only way you could make me more jealous of you all right now is to have one of you using the PRS Private Stock 305 and the other using a Frankenstein guitar. While playing this ridiculous amp!

  • Love Matchless, but could you demo it with something other than a PRS?

  • The sound @1:00 gives me shivers, absolutely incredible!

@RobChappers those harmonics in the last section are great!

  • bloody hell get on with it then

  • can a matchless spitfire get this gainy?

  • Funny when Rob got cut off at the start! About the amp: I didn't really like what I heard :(

  • Would love to hear with single coils? Blues./rock/country tones.

  • Matchless <3

  • looks like matchless have themselves a new artist

  • Matchless!?? Thats an old motorcycle manufacturer! When did they switch to amps? :)

  • It would be sweet if you guys could describe the various Matchless amps in terms that people can relate to easily. The differences between the models is crucial: If I'm looking for the vintage sound, or a metal sound, or a voxy sound, or plexi - I'm sure Matchless can do them all. It just would be nice to know which Matchless does which. Your place is like gear porn - seriously tasty hearing this! Thanks.

  • That is like the Rolls Royce of amps. Very few people are going to own one but the ones that do will all be VERY happy I'm sure.

  • are you still endorsed by marshall mate???

    cheers :-)

  • @GibsonGuitarsForever Yes sir I am with marshall

  • whats that song about 30 secs in?

  • Nice, very nice. Out of my league though (talent and price!)

  • 1:35 reminds me of the bridge from "Ticks and Leeches". Too cool man. You guys better come to Seattle for the Monkey Lord tour

  • Matchless' are godly - BTW is there a proper review of your Independence anywhere?

  • Yes sir a bunch coming up - and a tour of Matchless amps ;-)

  • AWESOME!

  • what song is at 1:40 ?

  • Sweet riffage Chappers, man you are an excellent player.

  • sweet Rob! love that PRS too, as usual you allways have the touch on the guitar man! that Amp sounds Great! got a great tone to it.

  • is it just me or this video looks like its recorded from a cell phone??

  • What the hell is this? Rob is basically advertising that guys amp on his channel. 2200 pounds, that's bs, that's like 4400 dollars, I could get a JCM 800 Full Stack instead.

  • I'll add this to the list of badass amps I can't afford

  • I think that price makes it exclusively for full on rock stars with loadsa cash or for city bankers who dream of becoming rock gods.

  • That riff at 0:30 makes me feel funny.... Like I just want to stare at something...... Awesome!!! I love when you play the Matchless amps... MONKEY LORD!!!!!

  • @jaredjulian2000 Thanks mate - Yeah I quite like that bit to, I was improvising but may keep that for something ;-)

  • Great amp but price is really sick and it's only a dream for most guitarists.

  • Gorgeous PRS - what a wonderful gift to receive. You must have really brought them some business in if he gave you that. Congrats Rob!

  • Thanks mate - She is a beauty ;-)

  • Amazing playing, as always Rob! Glad to see you with a PRS again, nice lefty les in the vid! Was it a Gibson?

  • Hm, right now my axe-fx is pretty successful in suppressing my GAS for that amp. :D

  • Seems like a great musicshop. I wish someone would open a place like that where I live.

  • In my humble opinion i think a lot of these boutique amps are like the emperor,s clothes fable! In other words they must be good cos they,re expensive ,handwired etc.Well i,ve had every marshall,ac30,boogie,peavey at my disposal and i,m now using a bugera 333 and it sounds amazing,do the maths!!

  • "Its around 2200 pounds"

A light went off in my head when he said that and I automatically said Fuck Off.

  • It sounds very good and I know they are hand-wired point to point however I think that is just way too much. Honestly there are amplifiers out there that sound just as good for a fraction of that cost.

  • I would rather have that guitar, thanks.

I probably won't be able to get ahold of a PRS custom 24 until I'm out of college.

  • The H&K whore in me couldnt stop drooling over the H&K Half stacks in the background! I believe I saw a TriAmp MKII xD I love my Triamp

  • it would have sounded alot better clean with some single coils i bet

  • I loved the sound of the Avalon but this amp doesn't sound as good to me. I think the Avalon was alot warmer sounding.

  • I really just cant get over that PRS, rob you lucky guy! Enjoy that thang! :D

  • Too expensive IMO. It sounds ok but I don't get what makes it "special".

  • Marshall wont be pissed about this?? Kewl kats them guys.

  • Chappers isn't exclusively endorsed by them, so they won't hunt him down if he uses another amp.

  • what kind of way is he endorsed by them??

  • Nice amp - Nice guitar - Great playing!!

That smooth bit you play near the start is belting!!

I spied a lefty Les Paul too! :)

  • That Guitar is a Belter.

  • Il stick with my Marshall JC800 which I got for 75 quid! Its special? Fingers heart and soul are special! Thats just an overpriced amp lol!

  • thats the mst ive ever seen an amp clean up with the volume pot, really cool

  • £2200???? I can get a super overdrive Soldano SLO-100 for that....

  • what nice brown classic sounding amp!!!!!

  • I've got a marshall combo with el84s and real spring reverb... so why spend 2300? I prefer the tone from the avalon as well. And at that price point you could easily get a bogner uberscall, or a buddah for that tone.

  • gief monkey blooz!

  • Rob play some different licks godamnit! ;)

  • holy sh----

    2200 POUNDS for a 15 watt amp

does it have diamond and golden turning knobs?

or does it wash my car?

  • Man.. it sounds nice till you read the pricetag... thing costs 2300with reverb and 2100 without

  • cool amp! I love it! but he's very very much!

  • Well the owner is pretty good at doing fourths

  • maybe I'm an idiot but I don't get the "Class A" thing at all. Maybe they are handwired by some virgin goddess, but I still think that the distortion of your rockerverb was a hundred times better than that... I just don't get it.

  • @maxlamenace987654321 rockerverb and this matchless is way too different amps, you can't compare them =)

  • Reminds me of the Marshall vintage modern. They're both very responsive to the guitars volume knob.

  • yeah very nice, but "... does it do metal?"

    ;-P

  • @smp156 Ha ha yeah if you ram a hardwire TL2 in front of it ;-)

  • Mmmm . . . that's some good tone right there. Punches and roars with Marshall-like ferocity, but has the sizzle of a cranked AC30. Wednesday Mach II is easily the equal of her predecessor, and even better-looking IMO.

Hey Chappers, next time you stop by, would you mind taking a minute to play that blue 25th Ann. Swamp Ash Special behind your head? The Narrowfield pickups intrigue me. Of course, I'm sure you don't want to put Miss Wednesday down for a minute. ^_~

  • @RaidenNoKishi Of course mate no problem at all - In fact suggestions for gear that I demo are always welcome ;-)

  • Well I don't know about anyone else, but I'd love to hear you play one the H&K half-stacks!

  • You should hold guitar competitions that involve amps/guitars/accessories from that store : )

  • thats a beautiful PRS

  • i couldn't afford that matchless but itd be nice if i had the money

  • nice guitar Rob :)

  • i wish i waz in the uk, there is no cool stuff like the store in the us around michigan

  • @GuernB2

I tottally agree....all we have here is guitar center.....nothing unique at all in the store...just mainstream stuff

I found a lot of smaller guitar shops but they are hard to find

  • Yeah. Guitar Center is essentially the Best Buy of guitar stores. It's unfortunate because they're the best shops within about a 3 hours drive from my house, and even THEY don't carry brands like ENGL or High-end Mesa products.

  • Does your guitar center have a platinum room? That seems like the only way to find high end products.

  • It has a Platinum Room, but even then it's pretty much just middle-high end Marshalls. And low-end PRS guitars. Haha

Central New York is not a good place to live for quality guitar products.

  • nice
