Hello pikey24one - you will find the Gaelic lyrics to Barney's tune on the website Celtic Lyrics. Beautiful tune - never heard anyone sing the words to it. Put yourself on Youtube - look forward to seeing you and hearing you! Doesn't Barney made one hell of a job of playing it? What a talent.

You might try asking over on Liam Clancy's web page. I know he sang it on a Makem and Clancy record as well as at the concerts.

heybeeg is correct, and the Liam Clancy version is a wonder in sound and song, spectacular and breath-taking, and leaves me gasping at his awesome powers , speechless I am , and why would it not be so, after all is said and done , he is far and away the greatest ballad singer alive !!! He's an absolute Irish treasure, so great I wish he was Scottish ,we'd tak 'im in a second, Albainn gu Brath

This is one of the most beautiful air's and tunes I have ever heard. My father taught it to me on the mandolin a long time ago and I am greatful to him for that. It's kind of ironic that the son's of some of the the greatest performers released this tune on their album (High King's)
God rest Ronnie and all the great musicians and singers that passed this past year
