  • Good Lord I love when you sing french!!! <3 I have no idea whats being said (cause I'm a loser) but it's just so goram beautiful! <3

Well done Miss Dawn.

  • What did she say???I am about....what???0.20

  • Nataly, i love this song. could you tell me the chords if you know them???? thanks!

  • I'm working on a paper concerning Louise Labe's sonnets as they appear in a set of six lieder by Viktor Ullmann. Great performance here!

  • lol... the way you sing it makes it sound like "baise mon corps," not "baise m'encor." quite different, n'est-ce pas?

  • adorable, magnifique, épatant, incroyable, joli

    breath-taking

  • @barbaric37 AARRGGHH!!

  • j'adore nataly dawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ARRGHHHH stop being so amazing!

  • Those eyes! What man would have a chance?

  • Thats way cool.

  • il fait chaud d'un coup

  • ''Encore'' need an E at the end :)

I LOVE YOUR VOICE...your style your eyes ... I hope I'll see you one day live in Montréal!!

  • @lauebaker Not in poetry. It might sound strange, but that's the way it is. Plus it's old french.

(sorry my text is in french, because I'm very, very bad in English :-/)

  • @Fever061 Wow thanks merci ...!

  • @lauebaker You're welcome ;-)

  • why wasnt this in my sub box??? D:

  • Baise just means "to kiss"

  • @toto33347 noo toto baise means fuck ^^ mdr

  • @johntejjy not here. "Baise" refers to the noun "Baiser" which means a kiss (not to the verb, very familiar, which means indeed as you thought so). This has already been said but it is old French (and I'm French, in case you wonder, so I know what I'm saying). Words are not anymore written this way ("meslans" -> "mêlant", "soy" -> "soi", "amoureus" -> "amoureux", etc.).

Nataly, your pronunciation is perfect. Even better than some French people.

Nataly, everything fit perfect. Plus, that is amazing what you did with that sonnet!

  • I'm French, and your accent isn't bad at all. J'adore.

  • at the first time i've read it like "a sonnet by Louise Labé inspired by Nataly Dawn" :-)

  • what's astonishing is that american/canadian people do have an accent when speaking french, but it totally disappears when they sing

  • parfait!!

  • goddamn. I need a minute.

  • C'est magique quand tu chantes français! ^-^

(It's magic when you sing in french! ^-^)

  • Roar! <3

  • How did you get the static in the background to stop all of a sudden? Genius!

  • Alright...

    Your accent is ... perfect...

To be fair, you don't even have an accent.

  • Oh... my god. I am in love with your music. I want to make love to your music.

  • No idea what you're saying...but it's beautiful

  • does anybody know the chords for this? it's gorgeous!! x

  • @surfysez96 You can see the chords she is playing in the video if you're patient enough to notate them... ^^

  • @TheGodin I'm self-taught so I'm not good with chord names :( haha xx

  • she is amazing, really talented

  • this is really goood. i love it alot! (:

  • really beautiful. and I really like your shirt :)

  • Je biseaute toujours obtenir assez de toi. Merci!

  • iloveyou

  • Tres tres bien j 'amie toi chante!!!

  • is she french ? well ,i'm french and her accent is reel good , even if "baise moi encore" make me laught for the french play on word ...but la vie en rose is wonderfully executed ! so nice <3<3

  • @poilotorse

Apparently she live in France for quite a while!

  • @poilotorse

Apparently she live in France for quite a while!

  • Kiss me again, kiss, kiss me again; Give me the tastiest you have to give, And I'll return you four, hotter than live The pain with ten more kisses, honey-sweet. And so kiss into happy kiss will melt, We'll pleasantly enjoy each other's selves. Then double life will to us both ensue: You also live in me, as I in you. So do not chide me for this play on words Or keep me staid and stay-at-home, but make me Then out of myself, my dearest love, you take me. well,
  • What an awesome interpretation!! :D

As I understand, Baise used to mean "to kiss" around the time Louis Labé wrote this (which makes sense, because in Spanish, "Baise" is "Besar", so they sound alike).

  • I have a suden disgust for pop music after listening to this :) Thanks.

  • I admire the directness of the syntax - closer to modern English. Sometimes I think Brantôme was the last man to write living French. But I did not know Labé. Thanks again!

  • Alright, did you paint the painting in the background? Seriously, if you get any more talented I'll have to kill you.

  • I swear, If you get any better at singing I'll have to kill you...

  • @AlliNoel767 you have a pretty good voice yourself, why the threats?

  • @belo4000 Thanks so much :) (JUST to keep it clear, I was kidding (: she's just amazing at singing!!) haha. But thank you very much, though!!

  • The person who made HD available for Youtube videos obviously didn't account for those beautiful eyes... off to find my heart.

  • why are the highest rated comments about the meaning of baise? they should be talking about how amazing nataly and her voice is!!! i love it when she sings in french :)

  • Quand tu veux *-*

  • I just want to hold her face in my hands gently (I'm a rube) and say "Wonderful!" then offer a kiss-kiss because that's what I've read how you show favor. What a phenomenal artist ... PAIR of artists (I'd give the lad a hug, too, because they are, um, is "symbiotic" the wrong word? It is.) At any rate, I truly love this music :)

  • Nataly you are absolutely beautiful.

  • Something so simply beautiful about her. Just simple, beautiful, a clean smooth and amazing aura that surrounds her.

  • Lovely.

  • her french is wonderful ^///^

  • She is just a pretty awesome genius !!!!

Where did she found the idea to interprate a french poem in this way????

AWESOME, I really like this one, she proved that she's a real artist....

  • That was a pretty good interpretation! J'aime beaucoup aimé!

  • Nataly! Cantarás algo en español?

  • Today "to kiss" means in french " embrasser " kiss me " " embrasse moi "

And I love Nataly since I heard her singing mr sandman

  • I'm in love with this girl just from seeing her in the Hundai commericial and then i stumble across this. Je t'aime.

  • I doubt Nataly reads these anymore, so does anyone know how to get that mp3 from her myspace?

  • @thousandumbrellas you could always just download i from some youtube to mp3 converter website-there are millions of them

  • @IamAsi94

I started doing that recently, but the quality isn't that great.

  • Beautiful in every way.

  • I love when you first noticed you were nailing it at 1:22and the look on your face after the last chord rings is f'n awesome - a well deserved moment of happiness. What a great little session. This is still my very favorite video you've made.

  • Vraiment craquante !

  • nicely done, Nataly

assume you've graduated by now; well done, my dear

  • Are you french...or only when you're talking about sex ? ;-) nice song and way you sang it!

  • The eye contact you make with the camera is hypnotic...

  • @Sjwar Her eye contact is mesmerizing - she's got pretty eyes :)

  • Nataly is French, it's said in some of her other videos, hence her fantastic accent :)

  • Holy goodness!

I was terrified... I saw that this was a cover of a French song and I got quite worried...

You got the accent bang on... I drooled.

    Absolutely love your music.

  • Well-chosen poem for great music!

Baisers from Lyon (L. Labé's home city!)

  • Amazing!

  • I thought that she said "Baise mon coeur", but "Baise m'encore" makes sense as well...

  • this tune is actually pretty sexy

  • I could listen to her sing in french all day long. it's so soothing :)

  • Not bad, I wonder if her french accent has improved in the last year? It's really good, almost perfect, but her voice takes care of that right! Which came first by the way, Jack or Nataly?

  • I'm a french canadian and I am VERY VERY impressed by your skills!

Your prononciation is incredible, you sound like a french diva

It's been a long time since I fell off my chair for someone on youtube.

You are one amazing lady to be discoverd over and over again!

  • Do you expect people not to understand these lyrics? :)

  • Nataly, could you be my french tutor? Love your music:)

  • You have a nice French accent !

  • Magnificent... is baise slang for something else in a different context? Just wondering. I love the song.

  • spectacular spectacular - your an amazing artist

  • Gorgeous! :D I hope you know you're singing 'F*ck me again' :P

  • Non non...Baise does not mean " to fuck" it means "to love" " to huge" 'to care" "to look in the sole of the other loved one to understand how to please" it means so much more than to just fuck, but to to kiss with eternal true love and understanding.

  • @089674532

Je suis français, I am french and baise m'encore mean kiss me again with a contraction the sentence should be baise moi encore. during all the poem it is really clear that she is talking about kind of kisses and affection.

  • This makes me want to study French so bad...

  • that's dead good

  • Fantastic!

  • haha baise can also be translated as 'to fuck' lawl...

  • Wow...French is beautiful.

  • bravo!!!!! rien a dire.... !!! excellent !!!!

  • This is beautiful, and unfortunately, it seems to be one of very few Nataly has in French. It also has, unfortunately, put me in the mood for French. Anyone know of any French artists with a similar style? Please p.m. me, if you do! Meanwhile, Nataly, more FRENCH!! You're beautiful!

  • athos7776- so that means that she sounds funny beucase she is an american? so she has a american accent? wow, that's cool.

  • Wow Nataly, your french accent sounds sooooo cuteeee for a American ;).

  • bravo

  • Oh my, I'm falling in love all over again.

  • God, your voice is gorgeous.

I wish you all the best of luck in your career because I can tell you are going to go far.

  • This is amazing! :D

  • Was this inspired by Fiona Apple's "Extraordinary Machine"?

  • Wow.Labe .You guys are awesome.Baudelaire or Verlaine might be fun too.Labe is so much less obvious.Amazing she wrote at all inher time. You guys have it all.Taste,timing,skills.Wonderful ,yet again!

  • "...the causality doesn't make sense there," LOL

  • only it's archaic French and "baise-moi" now means "fuck me" :)

  • @tergeist *lol*

  • tres bien, j'adore!!

  • I just bought this on iTunes! I've only just discovered you. I LOVE your singing style and voice! Keep the songs coming... :)

  • I think this is the most romantic song you made nataly. =)

hope you could made more of these songs. =)

  • You make me want to learn French.

  • :D You're good at speaking french<3

  • Her French is perfect because she moved there from LA when she was ten years old. She's just amazing at everything!

  • That smile at the end... <3 XD

  • chords?

  • sure.

  • Please?

  • Pamplemousse rocks!!

  • Geez,don't know how i missed this,everything in it's time I guess.Awesome.

  • Beautiful song and a beautiful voice. A beautiful face makes it all the better. Merci mademoiselle.

  • No no no... Today "baise" means "to fuck", but back in the 16th century it meant "to kiss"... (Espèce de pervers sympathiques!)

  • @wave631

It's true, but at first the song sounded kind of gross!!

  • oh la la

  • this is perfect..

  • I'm no expert of French dialect, but I think this is what it should sound like. Absolutely beautiful.

  • parfaite

  • I really do not know why you have not been signed. You have talent and lots of it.

  • Pomplamoose have turned down offers to stay indie. :D

  • @kernelgeekorginal If that's true, I think that is kind of stupid. They can keep the same sound while having a label...

  • you should do a cover of camille, le festin

  • I can arrange that. You could use a good kiss. -Han Solo

  • funny thing is, Baiser used to be an infinity, meaning 'to kiss'. Now its a slang word meaning 'to fuck'. xD

  • @admbrns

At least that transformation makes a bit of sense... Unlike how the word 'gay' went from meaning 'happy' to refer to being homosexual... and it's also used as a general insult...

  • sweet
