  • Black Marshmallows! This game looks awesome! I'm getting an odyssey2 soon!

  • Thank you for digitizing directly from the video signal; I have seen other online reviewers that use cellphone cameras shaken and waved frantically in the general direction of a TV screen.

  • The "aztec" level on goldeneye is based on Moonraker so technically they did make a game of it.

  • No Mr. Bond, I expect you to play pinball!

  • Its more funny when someone says something funny but in a serious voice just like Mark does

  • Bond in a Hyundai? With Hyundai's new upscale rebirth, I could see it.

  • this isint about 007 dumbasses

  • Call it James Bond: Odyssey. Wait, have they done that already? I don't think so.

  • Are you kidding? A Moonraker game would be awesome!

  • i think on to something with the james bond idea mark!

  • lol you should win some award for your reviews, they're very clever.

  • What was the first console ever?

  • @ShadowzGamer Magnavox Odyssey (Not odyssey 2)

  • i have this system and this game - it holds my attention for about 2 minutes

  • he did play a game called domination in the movie never say never again it not part of the series but its a sort of a remake of thundeball but still its a great movie starring Sean Connery & Kim Basinger

  • This is very funny. I like the "official rules." I like how they call them "rules." I mean, is someone going to cheat? Atari had instructions. Did people prefer following instructions over following rules?

  • That would be the best game ever

  • d'aww, the layout thingy looks like a smiley face ^^ The squares as the eyes, the flippers as the mouth...Anyway, lovely review. I was about to go play some games myself but instead got carried away watching your videos xD

  • @XpikoXtheXawesomeX Don't we all?CGR got me to buy so many good games, Silpheed, Android Assault, Silpheed: Lost Planet, Madworld, etc etc)

  • This game reminds me of "Video Pinball" for the Atari 2600.

  • Ok... In 1979, I paid $49.99 for this game and that was a LOT of money for a 12 year old back then.

The HUGE thing about this game was that you could score more than four digits in a game. Sounds petty now, but I assure you, it was a big draw for me... Well that, and I was a pinball fan.

If you've seen most of the characters in this game before, that would be the built-in char. set at work. The only custom object here is the ball itself. Just not enough memory to do otherwise!

  • Nice lounge music :)

  • Good review just like a real tv show.Very informative.Best on you tube i've seen.Lots of time and effort put in.

  • does anyone else notice that the dots and blocks together look like K C munchkin

  • @fattyfilms1 because most of the odyssey 2 games were designed by 1 guy. he was the only programmer for the first few years and used all of the same tools.

  • They did show James Bond playing a videogame.. But it wasn't a videogame about pinball.

  • "World Domination" was the name of the game Sean Connery played in Never Say Never which was coincindentally a remake of Thunderball.

  • thank god for some recognition screw all the people who thought atari invented games ralph baer invented the odyssey in 72 years before the atari

  • @VegetarianBarbarian ralph baer did NOT invent video games. He was 20 years too late. Check out my video on pong wars part 2. It's a documentary on ong and pre-pong

  • @BiffsGamingVideos yeah it was something like the cathode ray tube amusement device from 1947 or something that was developing means to make games for electronic systems. games like chess, nim, tennis for two, space war and some other i cant quite recall came way before anything in the 70s. people tend to think pong came first...well it may have been the first popular video game, but not the first, by no means

its like thinking wolfenstien was the first fps, it wasnt. maze wars was in 73/74 was

  • @Xegethra Watch my documentary on Pong Wars. Has everything you talked about there,

  • james bond will be using a kia car

  • this guys voice is so awesome!

  • @winner619 if you like mono sounding robots like Kevin Costner. Sure.

  • "Thumper Bumpers"

    ^_^

  • hit "5" for a slow-mo game...you can keep the flippers up, the ball will fly off the same!!!

  • I'm still impressed Mark can review a really old pinball game for nearly eight minutes and every minute is entertaining.

    I love it.

  • Games have come SUCH a long way, it's amazing!

  • You can see James Bond hanging out in the villain's arcade / casino in Never Say Never Again. Complete with Gravitar (which Kim Basinger plays) Centipede and Dig Dug machines.

  • The Odyssey 2 is as old ad me.

  • Very funny and enjoyable voice-over dude. Cheers.

  • Is odyssey2 backwards compatible with odyssey 1 games?

  • no odyssey one games were these overlays you put on your tv.

  • pinball games are so boring....but good review!

  • xD , I liked the little line at the very end :3

  • James Bond driving a Hyundai? Thats sacrilegious!

  • Yeah this pinball looks a little too rigid and dull. It was still interesting hearing the review though. Midnight Magic was a lot better than this one appears to be.

  • You forgot about Bond drinking his vodka martini, shaken and not stirred, while playing the pinball machine.

I think such a movie would have to be called "Powerball X2."

The goal, get to the X2 powerball bonus before Spectre does.

  • Dude this brings back bad memories of my father buying this machine with 20 games for 200 bucks in 1986 or 1987 when we wanted a F* ing NINTENDO did I mention my dad got scammed by this from my Uncle his cheap ass brother!I will say there was 1 good game for this i believe it was called UFO ride around in a space ship with a force field and was like a shooter. But all the other games sucked....

  • COOL

  • lol u rock

    love the sarcasm

  • whats wrong with that?

  • you can hardly tell when to use the flippers

  • He does both, fag.

  • You should try to acquire a Magnavox Odyssey 100 or 200, analog systems with analog scoring, check em out, hahahah.

  • I want one!

  • awesome review again

  • It's so funny that you always say sarcastic funny stuff but you sound so serious every time. lol...

  • COOL

  • Awesome review Mark! I wish artwork was common like that these days, and sorry I havent been on the forums in a while - College. -_-

  • Looking at that instruction manual thing, is Odyssey two supposed to be odyssey Squared?

  • Nice review! BTW there is a moon-raker based level in Goldeneye 007 for the n64. It's pretty cool though because you can get double lasers and double assault rifles in that level.

  • I just lost, "The Game" =(

  • Looks ok, but i'd much rather play Pinball on NES :D

  • look at that awesome super slick, fast and fluid movement of that ball.. that is incredible

  • hey did you know that here in the uk and the rest pof europe the magnavox is known as the Philips Videopac G7000?

    just a random fact lol.

a great review as always lol

  • I enjoyed Video Pinball on the 2600, but this game looks really dull. There's nothing going on in this playfield, the ball just keeps hitting the same stuff over and over. It doesn't even bounce around very much. The only remotely interesting event appears to be hitting the "bonus bumpers" at the top.

Video Pinball has lots of more interesting targets to aim for, and the ball bounces more erratically like it should.

  • I like the way you say Magnavox Odyssey 2, i could just loop it over and over .

  • cgr has a nintendo 64?

  • great reviews i love the consistancy too your awsome

  • This is one O2 game that I havn't picked up yet. It looks better the Pinball on the Atari 2600 but worse then Midnight Magic.

  • I think it's about the same as Video Pinball on Atari, but not as good as Midnight Magic! It's Magical! -CGRHD

  • when the system was released there wasn't a whole lot of alternatives

  • awesome review, magnavox ftw!

  • Well, I'm a fan of retro games, but I do find pinball games like this sone to be a little too outdated; probably would've wanted to play an actual pinball machine even in '79 when this game was out.

P.S. Yea, Moonraker was a pretty weak James Bond movie...

  • ...That is bad LOL!! I remember my parents got me an Odyssey 2 when I was young. The graphics were so awful...but for the time I guess it was state-of-the-art. I also remember the keyboard on the system never worked right.

  • Haha you and your pinball games. I am sorry I just can not get into these old pinball games. I do not understand how others can either. I mean when this game came out there were REAL pinball machines everywhere. I understand wanting to have the Pinball experience at home but COME ON! Anyhow it was still an awesome video like always.

  • Who cares

  • lol

  • who doesn't not care

  • god i love those sound affects

  • 'Official Rules' rule!

  • Lol, James Bond in a Hyundai, that would be priceless.

  • I lol'd.

  • lol

  • number one my ass..

  • Would James bond be good at pinball XD
