There have been a few "girls" on the net that I've had friendships with. Two from youtube and one from a parrot forum. I think predators and the subject of predators can be pretty complex. Our society creates predators of the abnormal. I think we have gone a little far. Do I think that, that personal opinion I have justifies people who would attack another human being or to break a law , no. It makes me sick picturing a 40 year old trying to do sexual things to a child, but it also makes me sick picturing an 80 year old doing sexual things to a person in their 20s.

In some cultures, actually in a lot of cultures certain activities aren't predatory in nature and I think in the merging of those cultures with our own we need to take a step back and think about how wrong activities are. Now who would I say is a predator? I define a predator as a person who knowingly attacks or inflicts harm on a person because they either have power over that person or because they believe that they will get away with that.

That includes everything from a rapist to a torturer to a wife-beater to a person luring kids. I think the discussion gets too displaced when considering who a predator is and as a result of that predators run free and wild. I think if people took a step back and looked at all of the cultures of our world and decided truly what a predator was and attacked that smaller group of the ugly side of our society, that real progress would take place.

Until we get over out old habits and ideals of trying to make the world perfect, and focus on making the world better, reality will never improve. Our societal beliefs aren't perfect or an 80 year old wouldn't fool around with a 20 year old (which would be the bigger victim there). Everybody thinks the way they were raised is best and that is why we have people who are still anti-gay, racist, angry and very dedicated to their stance. Ours is an imperfect understanding of right and wrong.

Yes I realized I rambled here but it was only to keep people thinking and hopefully help get you up on the discussed list. This is a subject, particularily child exploitation, that has been obvious on youtube for too long and its because not enough people are willing to take a stance and really tell people what they believe in. Youtube once tried to sweep this topic under the rug by banning young tubers, but they never truly attacked the key source and underground that encourages exploitation.

I am just tired of inaction due to people classifying everyone that falls even the least bit outside societal norms as a predator. We should crack down on the people approaching kids online and in life, the people beating their wives or kids and the rapists and then when those people are taken care of we can broaden that scope. I absolutely agree that to a certain degree parents need to continue to be responsible. Obviously its difficult to monitor what your children do, but if a parent doesn't even attempt to keep up with the child's activity then how are they supposed to know how to protect their children, let alone when to act. Banning children is not the answer because then they will never learn the danger that is out there, a responsible site should take it upon themselves to protect the children on that site.

What is worse is the parent's only source of knowledge would be offline propaganda rather then first hand experience and observation.
