  • Thank God the operator is ok

  • Slow down . Cranes arnt excavators

  • 1:05 OH S**T!!!

    MY SANDWICH!!!

    YOUR ON YOUR OWN KID!!!

  • Why did they put the concrete slab on suck weak ground? Maybe some support from bedrock maybe? I have no idea how to make something like that, but it didn't seem very well "thought out".

  • @oldfart387 Things most of the time looks like that - AFTER accidents ;).

  • '

wow sand is soft and wet that cause crane fall down,,,

should call craneboat on the water more safety

  • WOW.. THAT DUDE IN THE TRUCK MUST HAVE SHIT HIMSELF!

  • That won't look good on a resume..... 1 to 1 rule.

  • ho shit!

  • someone needs a new pair of pants

  • Awesome video!

  • CAN YOU SAY DRUG TEST ?...I THOUGHT YOU COULD......

  • learning by doing ..

  • what a mess

  • Wow...thankful no was killed....wow

  • wat a dick

  • all i was thinking is was if the guy on it was ok

  • Oooohhh SSShit!!!

  • the driver musta shit his pants!

  • Soil mechanics boring stuff, tumbling 100 ton cranes fun, theres usually a large and detailed section about positioning your riggers in the crane manual, the normal rule of thumb is not enough on poor river bank recent pad though. driver s are usually arrogant egotistical know it alls

  • They show good with all the vests, cell phones, and shiny paint.

  • Wow,Not good !!!!! Were you there ?

  • I can't believe the guy walking around didn't see the crack in the ground where it collapsed. He should have told them to halt untill they could re position the crane. That could have been avoided.

  • @themaytagrepairman he saw the cracks, thats why they were trying too get the load down as fast as possible. Even though I think it would have been better too just dump the whole load into the river.

  • The operator did not "positioned himself brilliantly so to avoid falling face first". He had absolutely no control over that rig after it started to swing. When the rig started to sink, gravity took over and the heaviest part, the counter weights, swung down hill. Although it did indeed probably save him. His mistake was setting up too close to the edge of the ravine. Looks like it was back filled with gravel witch does not compact well.

  • @cranelift

I was just commenting on what we see in the video, I never say this or say that I just watched and thought the crane driver did well thats all.

  • The crane driver done well, he saw what was coming and given what happened he positioned himself brilliantly so to avoid falling face first. 10/10

  • @gary72carol61 he had a safety plan. The safety observer struggled a bit as he was not too sure where to go.

  • @gary72carol61 That was the counterweight pulling the crane around, not the operator.

  • @chuck738 I had not thought of that. Nice call!

  • GODDAMN! Did the operator make it out alive?

  • @euroadam82 Yes

  • quick thinking, watch how he turns the cab up the right way before he completely falls, he know how to stay alive in that thing

  • well at least they can use the crane as a walking bridge now = )

  • scary sh!t...

  • That was one bank the gov't couldn't bail out.

  • TV show interested in your video. Please check your inbox. Thanks!

  • poor stupid bastards }

  • "She'll be right"

  • damn

  • wow... make sure you put justin bieber where the crane will fall next time

  • you don't see that every day 0.o

  • that was crazy

  • WOW! :O

  • Oh my fucking goodness, that was a disaster!

  • Damn! what a expensive foul-up that was!, glad the guy operator got out of it okay!.

looks like they were trying to drop the load as quick as possible and prevent the crane going over (hence why the beam damaged the yellow railings)

  • @Aussie50 correct

  • it should have collapsed on the commonwealth bank

  • lol , the guy on the ground should have noticed it was giving out

  • @daewooparts looks like he did, they appeared to be lowering the load in a hurry, not that the crane could just drive away.

  • @Aussie50 should have dropped it sooner instead of swinging the load back and fourth, now they got both a damaged load and a expensive damaged crane too as well as property damages too

  • @daewooparts The guy did notice. Apparently you didnt notice the two cranes were trying to put the load down right where it was after the spotter on the ground noticed. Theres a thing called "shock load" that you get when you make sudden movements in cranes. Shock load would have jolted the ground under his outriggers and probably made it collapse twice as fast as it did in this video

  • @cascist apparently they didn't follow basic rules for stabilizing the ground or the outriggers correctly, why would they work next to a steep incline with just gravel fill and planks to put the out riggers on ,it should have been a solid compacted stable area,or they should have built one in the first place ,way cheaper then repairing or replacing the crane , structure and injury claims that will follow

  • @daewooparts Your right about the questionable ground stability without a doubt. I was just pointing out that even if the guy didnt notice the ground it was to late after the beam was airborne anyway

  • Glad No one was Hurt, That would Have been Scary!!

  • Shit happens.

  • Yep, you called that one out.

  • OMG thats nuts i only work up the road from there
