Saw this concert in Las Vegas. And yes, people from the audience really do go on stage during the song. You can't see it on the video, but several security officers are on the stage, and nobody gets close to him during the song or after. Notice how quick a departure he makes after the song.

The was the last song of his set before his encore during the 1974 tour. Thanksgiving Friday 1974 I saw him at Nassau Coliseum out on Long Island and as great as the concert was, this was the cherry on top of the sunday. Everyone lost their voices screaming Saturday for 10 minutes to Elton's encouragement from on top of the piano :-)

That's so cool. The thing to this video is that at the live show in Vegas, the middle of the front row was allowed to come on stage during this song. No, that is not Tina Turner, it's a local Vegas drag queen that Elton is friends with. She was a fixture at his Vegas shows. She sometimes filled empty seats with locals (like me!). It was there on this night and luckily, I am one of the ones dancing on stage -- desperately trying to get as close as I can. I'm the tall slim guy(where's Waldo?)
