  • nice sound, could you give the model of your tele pickups.

  • good choice for number one

  • Super guy and great sounding guitar. Really enjoy your presence here and on the gearpage - amazing generosity and enthusiasm, not to mention musical talent.

  • Why would you want to take the "Fender" decal off the head of the neck?

  • In this case, because it's a Warmoth neck, and the decal looks awful

  • I was thinking about getting an Earvana nut for my Strat. How are they? Is it as good a product as they claim?

  • Hi, Where do I find the step by step building on your site?

    Great sound and playing.

  • Wow, that is a great guitar you built!

I'm going to check out the step by step on you site.

    THANKS!

  • Brutal sound you got there. Really like it, sustain like a goddam opera singer :)

    Best regards, Sandemose

  • Which finish turns yellow alot, poly, satin or nitro?I want my Strat neck to look a little old,and I like the yellow tint.

  • Nitro amber tint will do that :)

  • Thanks man,I think it gives guitars a more classic look,Oh and by the way, your tele rocks, and yeah,3 saddle bridges are way cooler.

  • Where didi you get the neck? as far as i know warmoth wont put on fender decals.

  • I bought it used.

  • the mods page on your site isnt working. on another note. i love that guitar! after i get my fender twin im going to start building my own tele.

  • i can see why this is your favorite guitar. its my favorite of your's too. im going to try to get a vid of my favorite tele up here for all too see.

  • great video....the zipper on your jacket makes me nervous...zipper rash on that tele would not be nice. BUT...your reviews are very helpful. thanks

  • mmmm, beauty. My favourite fender colour for a maple neck guitar. I have the same guitar sickness that you have. It consumes my life and steals all of my money, but I couldn't be happier. Judging by the name of ur channel I was expecting to see some videos of a "mojocaster" or in other words a squier '51. Fuckin Awesome guitars.

  • Love that seafoam green. Sounds good too. What amp and settings are using? Sweet guitar.

  • Love that seafoam green. Sounds good too. What amp and settings are using? Sweet guitar.

  • nice job,great sound

  • Wow, I've been looking for pickups to put in my tele project. I have the option of putting a mini humbucker or single coil in the neck. I think your video just made my mind up for me. Very nice, how are those earvana nuts? Do they brighten up the tone a bit... I was thinking of going graphite to battle some of that brightness.

  • Earvana to me is a waste of money. And yes, Owen makes great pickups. Do yourself a favor and contact him. Tell him I said hi :)

  • what output did you choose for the neck? It's amazing.

  • I just put a set of Duff Special Stock pups in my tele, they sound amazing. I think Im going to have him make me another set for my upcoming build. Be seeing you over at Tdpri, keep up the great picking.

  • Thanks for the kind words. Owen sure knows how to wind them, doesn't he? :)

  • Great tuners. As for the Earvana nut, it was there on the neck when I bought it and I know nothing about it.

  • nice gutiar, its awesome the bridge pickup sounds the best amazing

  • Those are great pickups. I cannot say enough about OC Duff...

  • how much was it???

  • I built it for mojotwanger dot com and ended keeping it instead of selling it :)

  • how much would one go for if i wanted one just like it, minus the custom part of it

  • please send me an email with the specs you want at mojo at mojotwanger dot com

  • ok, i just want a standard GREEN fender telecaster, how much do those go for?

  • I am not sure what standard green is, but I am building a sherwood green tele (nitro finish) right now, and the sale price will be $799. It includes a US Fender body and Fenders' proprietary S1 switching system...

  • Ive come across your postings & really enjoy a good demo. I have a 52 hotrod which is the 1st tele ive owned. Whats your take on this one as opposed to the hot rod. BTw Ive seen your hotrod demo and to me these two sound similar. Your demos are much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Mojo, I have to tell you Ive recently come across your demos and really enjoy watching.

  • Thanks for the kind words!

  • Yea I just had to post that Owen is a master of pick up construction. I have a set on a strat of mine that sound gorgeous. Plus he's just a super nice guy.

  • Could not agree more :)

  • wow i was completely blown away by the total lack of noise coming from those pups. on every tele pickup demo i watch, you can just hear the hum crank up when the player flips to the bridge.

i am almost sold on barenuckle country boys, but i'm going to give this duff stuff serious consideration. assuming you're familiar with them, how would you compare them to duffs?

  • The best set of Telecaster pickups I have ever owned were wound by Owen at OC Duff, so of course they would be my recommendation :)

  • hi can u help me please? i've just bought a fender big block stratocaster and like most strats it goes out of tune easily when i used the whammy bar. so i've been thinking about gettin sperzel locking tuners fitted onto, the only t hing holding me bacak is that i use drop d and standard tuning equally as much, if i have these tuners fitted will it make switching between these tunings more difficult? might seem like a stupid question but i wanted to make sure/ please reply. alex

  • Hello!

Im' a Brazillian, I love all the things about Telecasters: the body, the neck, the TWANG!

Luckly, I'll go to orlando in march, and I'll get my new American Fender!

Basically, what is the differences between the American Standard Telecaster and the American Series Telecaster? Only the brigde, that the Am. Series is an Standard bridge and the Am. Standard is an Vintage bridge..

Thank you if you read this, and more thanks if you answer me :)

  • Hey!

Man, all your videos are great!

Im brazillian, and, in march, I'll go to orlando, I'm going to buy a Fender there.

I love all the telecasters things! The neck, the body, the TWANG!

I know you are a veteran on telecasters, so would you recomend a American Series Telecaster or a American Standard Telecaster?

  • Depends on what you expect from the guitar :)

  • sounds great:>

  • that sounds great

  • Thanks :)

  • u love that telecaster sound

  • Yes I do :)

  • Sounds amazing.

  • Thanks... she used to be my #1 until the Crook Tele replaced her.

  • What a glorious guitar! Thanks for showing!

  • Thanks man

  • Awesome tone, just wonderful! Nice playing too :) You made me order a set of OCDuffs for my Tele :) Listen, I was wondering about those Earvana nuts. Would you recommend them? How big of an inprovement is it? How's the tone comparing to bone or graph-tech nuts? I also read this on the Press page of their website: "However, we found this improvement came at the expense of unisons involving fretted notes and open strings." Do you agree with this? Thanks! -Andre

  • Thanks. Good move on the oC duffs, you will love them. Tell Owen Mojocaster says hi :)

I would never get another Earvana nut. Frankly, I saw no difference.

  • I started my dialog with Owen with sending him your video ;) I'm positive he'll make me a great set, but in my case it's going to be even more fun :))it's a Nashville-style three-pup Tele. The neck pickup is going to be (hopefully) just like yours, + "Number One" in the middle and... yes... I asked Owen to immitate a Filtertron in the bridge pos. :) Yes, I know it's impossible with a single-coil pup, but he promised something close.

  • I am sure Owen will deliver. He always does!

Sounds like you have a cool setup coming your way. When you do, let me know how you like it :)

  • BTW, what was wrong with the Earvana nut? I have a fantastic customized G&L ASAT with serious intonation problems. You think an earvana won't help?

  • I didn't see that it added anything on that guitar, frankly. It didn't take anything away either. Just felt like a regular nut.

  • So how much of a hastle was it to get the neck the way you wanted it? I heard that Warmoth is kind of pissy

  • I bought it used, so not much hassle there :)

I have dealt with them regularly, and I have no complaint...

  • Ah.

    Thanks.

  • Used? Wow. Ebay?

  • Can't recall, but I don't believe so. I think it was a private sale...

  • Ah.

  • Thanx for posting.

  • You bet! Thanks for watching :)

  • what do you think about the earvana-nut?

does it improve the intonation as well as it is said?

  • It's fine but I am not sure that I agree with all the marketing hoopla :)

  • I want D:

  • She was for sale recently, actually...

  • Love my sunburst vintage tele with a Fralin matched set, bigsby, old school bridge and nut/stock; she sings like a bird. (or like you say, a duck.) Love this video, good tone.

  • Fralin pickups are lovely as well, that's for sure!

  • Nice guitar!! I think it will be better after you play more and more.

I understand you love 3-saddles. 6-saddles is too steady. 3is something sweet.

And I feel something strange when I put my hand on 6-saddles :-)

Visit my movies on Youtube. Two of my movies are DEMOs of my gears. I used some of my Tele for the DEMOs. Thank you

  • I wonder why you detest the "6 saddle bridge". I'm sure someday I might want to build my own Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster with a maple neck and fingerboard and abalone inlays. That would be fine. I can't afford such a thing right now, but maybe after I complete my Bachelor's Degree in saxophone performance at Aquinas College. :) Nice documentary and playing.

  • Well, it all comes back to the fact that to me, a Tele has a 3-saddle bridge. There are technical reasons why a 6-saddle bridge is preferable, especially for intonation, but I still dig the vibe of the 3-saddle one better :)

  • a Tele & a Blues Jr. is a GREAT combo!

  • I agree... there's something about a Tele and a nice little tube combo that usually gets me quite enthused!

  • Very nice, I like the sound.

  • Thanks man. I do too :)

  • sounds great in all pickup positions, that bridge pu is just so right :) trebly and twangy but mellow at the same time. by the way, Threechord is a very nice website.

  • Thanks. Owen at OC Duff really did a great job with these pickups. Thanks for the kind words about threechordguitar dot com. It's a fun little project!

  • great demo, i have a set of petes p-ups, well had, and they were the BOMB!! I sold that guitar but miss that tone so much. I am currently building a tele, got the neck (8 year old flame maple, brazilian rosewood vintage style 22 fret warmoth w/ fender decal like yours) , will be using pete biltofts p-ups, and probably a semi hollow alder body with a bigsby...don't know which way to go on the body.

  • Man, I need to see pics of this guitar when you're done! :)

  • I'll certainly have a look!

  • Love that colour. Love that quack.

    Well done. Nice axe.

  • Thanks for the kind words and for watching the video :)

Did you see my free guitar videos at threechordguitar dot com?

  • I like the snappy bridge pickup sound.

The Telecaster is a pretty fresh guitar for being one of the first solid body electrics ever produced, isn't it?

    5 stars for sure.

  • Thanks for the comment and rating. Yes, the tele is an amazing guitar. I have 7 currently, and I love them all :)
