When they replay that same message at White Forest in EP2, they use an actual hunter in the animation. I'm sure if you noclip around during that message, you'll see a properly colored hunter bust through the wall after the elites.

In Episode 1, the flechette attack wasn't finalized. In prerelease footage, you see the "ministrider" fire a machinegun very much like the strider, gunship and attack helicopter. The skin also went through at least three iterations.

The advisor in half-life 2 and EP1are entitys called "cyclers" which cycles through the models animations when damaged, however in episode 2 the advisors are NPCs (npc)advisor) but the game crashes when you try to spawn them also you can kill them they just have about 1000 health.

the Hunter is the finished version, but the Ministrider is the same thing, they only called it that as a codename because it has 3 legs. it was still in production, thats why you only see it once in episode 1

th mini strider was the beta version of the hunter. the code was still worked on and what you see in ep2 is the final version. the beta still has a darker texture and if you look closely, the tailthing is missing on the hunters back.

The "Unknown" as I call the Ministrider, has failed A.I., and it is black, and doesn't have all the sound the regular hunter has, or the same weapons. If you use the npc_create npc_ministrider cheat, when it shoots you, no flechettes, just damage.
