Lovely song, good version...but everyone sings the wrong lyrics! its not The "wall they put between us" but "the Work i Put between us"! People may say....its her own take but...that is quite a major lyrical change, and can change the song contextually!Shes not the only one though

I liked the emotional quality in INdia Aries version although I do also like Don Henley's but I would not go to say that his version is better in every other way sorry!.. Just because you prefer one version over another doesn't mean it's necessarily the "best". Don Henley is the writer and original performer. I almost think it's kind of wrong to say someone's version of this song is "better" than his-- his is the original and truest form of the song.

No disrespect for India Arie, but I still think that the Don Henley version is much more better though especially that "Hell Freezes Over" performance.....
More beautiful voice, more beautiful music, more beautiful chorus, more right to the very emotion of the song (And not just singing)..... All in all, better in every way.....

Like I said, no disrespect to India Arie cuz I know that she's a talented singer and all.... I myself like a lot of her work as well.... But with this song, she really destroy its emotion by jazz it up like that instead of communicating the "remembering the past, cherishing the good times, and letting go of the bad times" attitude.....
So my answer is YES in every other way....

Well your opinion is yours .. I liked the emotional quality in INdia Aries version although I do also like Don Henley's but I would not go to say that his version is better in every other way sorry!.. I think she conveys the message quite clearly and certainly brings forth more emotion in the message then Don Henley's original and the man himself said that he liked it better than his own and he wrote then ohhh well!

Just because you prefer one version over another doesn't mean it's necessarily the "best". Don Henley is the writer and original performer. I almost think it's kind of wrong to say someone's version of this song is "better" than his-- his is the original and truest form of the song.
