Hello..moles CAN see Shadows but even more like blind persons..

But they have very sensitive Feets and Noses and their "sense of tense" in the Hairs in their face is very good..

I read somewhere that they have eyes but those are covered in fur and incredibly rudimentary.

I played with with a captured mole once as a kid. I gave it two worms and released it far away from home.Their fur is so soft and silky.

yes you moron they do have eyes and they are very sensitive to light because they live underground so his eyes are burning in the sunlight.

if you didn't know that mammals all have eyes then you should definitely not be allowed to keep this poor creature

Well again: My dog caught it and wanted to kill it.

So I saved the mole. I kept it for like 20 min to check if it was ok - and then I released it.

oh you saved him? that's cool man, i just saved one from my cat and i am helping him so he can get back to the ground tonight. I put him in a shoe box with dirt, grass and water oh and couple of warms, he should be ready to go back to the park at night. It does not take much to help these little guys, only a great heart. @fuggify Technically, moles don't have eyes in the form we would typically think of as eyes. What they do have are more like sensors in their eye sockets, barely strong enough to tell light from dark, but otherwise totally blind. Almost all species even have skin & fur covering their "eyes". They really aren't sensative at all.

This is how I would like to see it after I chased it out of my garden. This cute animal destroyed my lawn within days and killing it seems to be the only way to stop it.... But if I could to find a way to just get it out of my garden without killing it, I would be happy.. Killing these creatures is pointless!

@TengoNoNombre Thanks for the suggestion! But I think the dog we have since last year august made the mole to choose another garden to "reshape". I took the chance to use the dog's hair after brushing to put in the holes in the ground and as moles are terrified by dogs it apperantly fled because I haven't seen it since!

well, i dont have one, but i always wanted one, so i have read a few articles about it, since they love to dig, i would suggest a big tank atleast 5 feet tall, make it clear so u can see it move, i also suggest u re-fill the dirt so it can keep digging every month, its like a hobby, also have a water bottler like any other rodent , also put vitamins in the water, they are blind, so they have a very amazing hearing so dont have them in a noise place. thats all i know, oh feeding lettuce. n others

@Caligulas555 - I remember catching a baby mole that was cluelessly running down the pavement. And unlike you, I didn't "save it" I swapped it up out of curiosity and inspected it. I looked at its face and wow! I didn't see any eyes, really. Well, I did see little slits but they didn't look like eyes...more like an indent in the shape of a slit! Seeing that made me figure it was a mole. So I sent it back despite the temptation of petting it and keeping it longer. XD

they eat earthworms so you could dig those up, or buy meal worms for rodents from a pet store, and other insects, google it but i think low fat cats food and maybe goats milk would be ok as well since thats what you can feed hedgehogs, no bread though as its too fatty.
