oh you saved him? that's cool man, i just saved one from my cat and i am helping him so he can get back to the ground tonight. I put him in a shoe box with dirt, grass and water oh and couple of warms, he should be ready to go back to the park at night. It does not take much to help these little guys, only a great heart. Thank you on behalf of the mole.
@fuggify Technically, moles don't have eyes in the form we would typically think of as eyes. What they do have are more like sensors in their eye sockets, barely strong enough to tell light from dark, but otherwise totally blind. Almost all species even have skin & fur covering their "eyes". They really aren't sensative at all.
How about you check your facts before calling someone a moron.
This is how I would like to see it after I chased it out of my garden. This cute animal destroyed my lawn within days and killing it seems to be the only way to stop it.... But if I could to find a way to just get it out of my garden without killing it, I would be happy.. Killing these creatures is pointless!
just put him in the park, earth is a place for everyone not only you. Lastly get a cat and he won't be back but at least, you can put him in a big park or by the river, it isn't a big deal really.
@TengoNoNombre Thanks for the suggestion! But I think the dog we have since last year august made the mole to choose another garden to "reshape". I took the chance to use the dog's hair after brushing to put in the holes in the ground and as moles are terrified by dogs it apperantly fled because I haven't seen it since!
when i was walking home from school i saw a leaf flying a cross the street and iwas like :O WTF!?!?! that leave has feet and star shaped nose. i caught it and then i grabbed it by the tail and it was like making this noise that that sounded like this > tztztzttzztztztzttztztzttztztzttz and then i rec. a video of it and the it escaped
well, i dont have one, but i always wanted one, so i have read a few articles about it, since they love to dig, i would suggest a big tank atleast 5 feet tall, make it clear so u can see it move, i also suggest u re-fill the dirt so it can keep digging every month, its like a hobby, also have a water bottler like any other rodent , also put vitamins in the water, they are blind, so they have a very amazing hearing so dont have them in a noise place. thats all i know, oh feeding lettuce. n others
you cant just take an animal from its natural habitat because you want it as a pet. if you arent smart enough to undertand this, arent there laws in your country to tell you this?
@Caligulas555 - I remember catching a baby mole that was cluelessly running down the pavement. And unlike you, I didn't "save it" I swapped it up out of curiosity and inspected it. I looked at its face and wow! I didn't see any eyes, really. Well, I did see little slits but they didn't look like eyes...more like an indent in the shape of a slit! Seeing that made me figure it was a mole. So I sent it back despite the temptation of petting it and keeping it longer. XD
@dorourke105 Moles have developed vestigial eyes, thats a fancy term for they've grown past the need for eyes in that they don't need them in their natural environment.
I made a damn joke you stupid moron! BTW i have a bearded dragon and a corn snake why would i be afraid of your puny mole?! can I feed it to my corn snake? (that was also a joke idoit, you have no sense of humor)
DO moles carry rabies? Our cat found one and severed a chunk of it's back fur off. :-( There was an open wound and everything, but we transported the mole into an empty lot nearby.
did you have this mole when it was a baby? If so, what did you feed it? My brother just brought one home becuase it's mom was killed by a cat. Even if you didn't have it as a baby do you know what you can feed it as a baby?
they eat earthworms so you could dig those up, or buy meal worms for rodents from a pet store, and other insects, google it but i think low fat cats food and maybe goats milk would be ok as well since thats what you can feed hedgehogs, no bread though as its too fatty.
i had one , i found in the dogs room in the house , i dont know how it got in but any way it lived in a giant tub of soil \but mi sis left the lid open and it ran off
omg omg! i have a humongous obsession with moles! like for real! and i told my mom i wanted one and she looked at my like i was on drugs or something.. idk, i am just in love with like strange animals. my two fav's are moles and aardvarks! i wish i could have one sooo bad! if i did have one i'd name it chauncy :]] what did you name yours?

Hello..moles CAN see Shadows but even more like blind persons..
But they have very sensitive Feets and Noses and their "sense of tense" in the Hairs in their face is very good..
Theyre very sweet but i nerver sen an mole "realy in nature"..

Awww. I have some moles tearing up my yard, it's easy to hate them but they're really cute if you look at them this way c:
PredsGrrl 10 months ago
I read somewhere that they have eyes but those are covered in fur and incredibly rudimentary.
I played with with a captured mole once as a kid. I gave it two worms and released it far away from home.Their fur is so soft and silky.

Look at the user's post at the top, I quote:
You are a moron if you don't read all the posts.
Well again: My dog caught it and wanted to kill it.
So I saved the mole. I kept it for like 20 min to check if it was ok - and then I released it.
It's not his pet and he's not abusing it, so stop being morons

moles do have eyes but its really small. they need dirt to dig/live in and worms to eat.
thehammies4621 1 year ago
that must be so painful for him!
yes you moron they do have eyes and they are very sensitive to light because they live underground so his eyes are burning in the sunlight.
if you didn't know that mammals all have eyes then you should definitely not be allowed to keep this poor creature
