nightwish was my favourite band..till anette joined..seriously..she ruined the band with her voice..how its just one in the mix..nothing fancy or special..with tarja..omg..magic..dont get it why they didnt get the stratovarius singer..sounds 10 times better then anette..she sound kind of swedish folk/celt music joddle..and she tries to hard so her voice fucks up..they could have found so many better singers but choose this one..really dissapointment..but ill give them a few years..

You haven't seen End of an Era I guess. She's not a little sexpot like Christina Scabbia, Amy Lee, or Simone Simons, but Tarja has a dignified aura about her, and commands the stage during her performance.

She makes every song sound interesting live. She makes the siren sound loads more exiting than Tarja ever did. (im gonna get slapped for sayin that) BUt Anette rocks at all the songs she does live.!!! Tuomas is the mastermind. I so love Tuomas and the guys for choosing Anette. And I Love Anette for her voice. (and she's hot aswell).

I always get a kick when I read that. I suppose he can play all the instruments by himself and sing the songs too, eh?

Just because he writes the music doesn't mean the other members are replaceable, and that's especially goes for the core members, Tuomas, Emppu, and TARJA. This is not the Nightwish that became world famous, this is another band that has more of a pop rock sound.

Hell, this singer goes flat on THIS song even which was written for her voice.

Thanks. I really can't understand why people think HE is the only member who matters. He might write the orchestral arrangement and the lyrics, but Emppu writes the guitar arrangements, Jukka comes up with the drum patterns, and Tarja came up with the vocal style and delivery for the old songs. I guess Sami and later Marco helped with the bass arrangements as well.

Anette definitely interacts a LOT more with the crowd which is something I missed when Tarja was in the band. She also looks like she's having a lot more fun while on stage - just look at the skipping during Sahara :). She's a lovely woman too - met her before this show. Her voice isn't as magical as Tarja but she makes up fot it in other ways - and is great.

I've read that it was Tuomas' idea to have Tarja remain silent between songs, and to have Marco act more as the metal front person who'd talk to the crowd. It was to give Tarja more of a mystical type persona.

Nowadays, it's more like anything goes, and quickly turns into a hep hep fest in just about every song.
