Take no notice of those "lyrics" critics Mark - sometimes it's very difficult to decipher lyrics. I just spent the afternoon recording a backing track for a Big Tom tribute singer and I had to do a guide vocal. This is what I make of the awkward lines:
Makes no difference who you are, Skid row Joe or superstar
You may drive a coupe de ville, own a mansion on a hill
I saw Big Tom for the first time in Sept '09 at the TF Royal Theater in Castlebar Co Mayo.
HE PACKED THE "TF ROYAL" TO THE RAFTERS IN THE CEILING !!
The people were falling out the door after the dance!! Shirts, unbuttoned, men & women carrying their shoes in their hands, sweat pouring off their faces and were completly EXHAUSTED !!!
thanks Alan, though i do have to say that pleoidort is right as i have got some of the words slightly wrong in the video but the ones i put in is what i thought they sounded like to me. but the words above are actually correct in pleoidort's comment. lol
@MarksieBoy HEARD THIS SONG BY THE MAN IN CASTLE BAR 23 YEARS AGO BIG TOM WOULD BE 75 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR VOICE NOW A BIT SHAKEY BUT STILL ONE OF THE BEST ANOTHER BIG HIT WAS SMOKE ALONG THE TRACK
they sure are, i love the song though, i always sing along when Hugo plays it on BBC Radio Ulster during the week or Radio Foyle on Sundays. Ah we're going out the same way you came in.
