@outlaw0987654321 Haha, glad you found it funny! Sadly I stopped playing Eve a couple of years ago due to RL commitments. What's the jump effect like now?
@Smudge202ut sad to see you ain't playin no more. i'm only about 8 months into the game myself. the jump effect now is basicly that distorted ripple effect you get when you use a gate. so now you basicly see a "ripple" in space and the ship apears inside it. with no cool sound effects lol i'm sure you'll find clips of them here. hope you find time to play the game again:P hopefully this next expansion will be great.
@outlaw0987654321 Thanks for the reply. Hope you're getting into the game well, if you're still going after 8 months, sounds like you got over the learning curve.
If I do get back into the game, keep an eye out for Smudge202 / Minerer202. Smudge is my main but I hate the grind and iirc, he's outlawed still. =( To be fair, the 3-4 days it took to get him outlawed were more than worth it! If you ever bump into a guy called Killfest (likely flashing red) say Hi from me. =) (His dread in vid)
Basically, the normal cyno like the one in the video is shown to everyone in local (in Overview). The Covert Cyno is for use with the Covert Jump Portal / Blackops, which allow you to jump around unnoticed. Hope that helps.
It does... but that leaves me another question, when capitals are getting cynoed, they need a frigate to pinpoint the location for them first, as you did... you opned the portal.
does the covert op need a frigate in system aswell for beeing able to jump? or can they jump them self?
No, the Covert Cyno user's also need a ship ahead to open the cyno's. It is the downside of trying to run blockades, you still need to sneak a ship through (usually a covert ops) to allow the rest of your fleet to jump once a cyno has been fired up.
everything that jumps without a jump gate needs a Cruiser or frigate to deploy cyno for them to lock on then jump. in most cases thats why most cap ship pilots have alt characters to do this with and to have to use as a scout/spy (not saying I have one :) )
Bring back old Cyno effects.

@Smudge202ut outlaws don't flash red anymore by default. They changed that to solid red and reserved the flashy red for corps you're at war with.
