  • Love this song! female jazz musicians rock!

  • I work at a hotel. This song plays in the lobby on a loop with about 10 other songs 24/7 - it gets annoying, but of the 10 songs, this one is the best. I found the cd in the GM's office.

  • One of the best jazz songs I've ever heard. Hearing this song for the first time on the radio compelled me to find out who it was. I've been in love with it ever since. If I could play the sax', this would be a song that I would definitely learn to master.

  • ... did you seriously just answer that? ... cmon son.

  • that was very saxy ...

  • Awesome!

  • That was incredible!

  • She's one of the few female saxaphonists who is actually good. Most women don't have the chops for sax. Sorry ladies....

  • true. even so, she's so good that she's directly objective in being absolutely amazing as a musician.

  • 最高。

  • I love the way Dulfer combines hiphop-inspired musical notes into her tracks!

  • love, love, love this!

  • Smokin! I'm going to buy this.

  • She is just . . . WOW

  • Fantastic saxaphone playing. She is a female Kenny G but better looking.

  • I agree.

  • Great talent of this woman, I admire her.

    And this theme is nice!

  • Candy is a remarkable talent, and such a sweet person. Go Candy Dulfer!

  • damn i love her :)

  • Yeah for years a red headed sax player! What a dream. Why not buy the cd and listen here as I often do. This web site has led me to many artist I would not normaly be exposed to.

  • Heh she isn't a redhead anymore though ;P She appeared on a show about 2 months ago, and she was blond~ but her music is still awesome ^.^

  • She could do a Bratney Shears and I think she would still be pretty good lookin! This song is good to listen to several times over. I like this smooth sound.

  • Candy is the sax queen.

What an inspiration and funkier than a Mosquito's Tweeter (some of y'all might get that reference, I hope you do :-)

    Fan and Dulfer Desciple,

    Ava

  • Just getting into jazz and Candy's one of the best along with Swing Out Sister, Mindi Abair, and Joyce Cooling.

I'm getting most of her CDs from the local library to burn copies of my own. Love it.

  • :D thief

  • ;) I thought Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and the RIAA were the thieves!?!

  • you are nothing different than them...

  • I do believe I've just been insulted!

  • Aren't we thieves if we're listening to music that we didn't buy on the internet o.O

  • Aren't we thieves if we listen to music on the radio, or somebodyelse's radio, as we didn't pay for it? Do we violate copyright of the written word when we borrow a book, paper or magazine from the local library? Hmm, this gets kinda sticky don't it?

  • you are wrong...in the Netherlands, there is something called BUMA. I don't know the foreign equivalents. That instance makes sure artists are paid for "services" like you just mentioned. Through downloading (and youtube, it doesn't have such a policy as BUMA I believe, anyway) artists don't have revenue they would have if people would just watch TV or buy a copy of their CD. True, a large portion of that revenue goes to labels, but it's better than nothing.

  • The equivilent of BUMA here in the States is RIAA, the Recording Industry Association of America, which, in part, participates in the collection, administration and distribution of music licenses and royalties. It has a history of being rather draconian in doing so by protesting the right of people like you and I to make a copy of a song or music either on tape or CD. This, in my view, does not impinge at all on artist's copyright ... it infringes on my right to share music.

  • una bellissima donna abbastanza brava ma nn suonerà mai come un'uomo(non sono maschilista)

  • LOVE HER!!! If you don't like jazz, you'll like this song! If you LOVE jazz, you NEED this in your rotation of songs. It should be #1!!!!

  • hollanda!!! north sea jazz is the shit ;)

  • Still can't figure out if she's a blond or a Red-head she is much Hotter as a Red-head. She rocks and plays a mean sax . 5 *****

  • Such a great song...Candy is a real talent, not to mention se was, is, and if I may say so, will be a gorgeous woman!! WOW what a dame!!!!

  • I love this song. It is so lively and upbeat. If you're getting ready for a party or to paint the town red, this is the song to get you ready for a night on the town with the girls...or the guys! Thanks for posting it!

  • The video should have some night scenes of Los Angeles: now that would be appropriate!

  • This song is pretty awesome! I would love to see Candy Dulfer perform live.

  • I have seen her live; she is amazing!! She really rocks the stage. If you get the chance to go, go, it's really awesome!

  • she gettin down

  • Great soul jazz. Beautiful sound. Beautiful lady - has she got a sister? One hot lady.

  • this is the theme music to my life...lol

  • 3:20 is my favorite part.

  • I hear ya...great music to live by!

  • i've been listening to this song for about a year and i finally figured who the artist was....lol!! somebody told me it was a done by a japanese jazz musician......lol(boy was they off!!) anyway thanks for posting this is one of my favorite jazz songs ever.

  • Something about this jam I just love. She really has command of subtle movements in the melody...it feels like a voice...a sweet soulful voice singing...but it's Candy voicing on her Sax. Her lover must be one happy soul.

  • Her music flows, like all good sax music and she remains her own person. That is what I like about her. Neat story of how Dave Stewart asked her to play sax on Lily Was Here for a Dutch movie and the rest is history as they say.....

  • The best in the world...........!!!!

  • love this! thanks so much for posting!!! :)

  • Cool tranqualizing sounds. Nice

  • Good Work, I love Sax

  • i love her sax!!!!;)

  • where did she come from, her tune has soul like she dates brothers

  • She comes from the Netherlands :)

  • I heard this song in 2007 on WNUA 95.5 and loved it from when I heard it.

  • Gotta love this song. It makes me happy. :)

  • This song takes me to a very saxy place. I may have to start practicing more.

  • very saxy ...

  • She is very very good! I like her music:)

  • Yep, Candy is my best sax player ever! Her songs can be very wild and funky, as much as they can be heart touching.

  • I Love this song! Do your thang Candy!

  • I love Boney,Richard Elliott,Dave Koz, and on and on, but she has a sensuality to her music and I believe, woman to woman, it is because she is female and probably really feminine. Love Lily was Here best of all but I like Dave Stewart as well. Keep them coming, girl.

  • I'm so happy I found this song! I fell in love with it when it used to come on the smooth jazz radio station in our area, but they've since taken it away. It must have been about 3 months or since I heard this song. She is just awesome... one of my favorite songs.

  • just funky.

  • I was hooked after Smooth from the For The Love Of you ablum, ain't been the same sense.

  • Typo! "since"

  • The bridge of this number might be some of the sexiest music i've ever heard! Hurt em Candy!

  • This song is too great.

  • this song is the sweetest!!! i love it :)

  • This song is HOT and so is Candy Dulfer! Not just another pretty face though. This chick can flat play the sax!

  • Love this song...first heard it on vacation in Chicago.

Although the title is "LA City Lights", this song always takes me back to Chicago.

  • Love this one!

  • I go too to a concert!! Tuesday in Utrecht!! Where did you go? Amsterdam?

  • In zoetermeer, at the 'Boerderij'. It was the first concert of her new tour 'candy store', she'll be going to cape town jazz next week. Btw, Chance Howard, Rhonda Smith and Kirk A Johnson were there as well ;-)

  • Just been to a concert of her's in Holland and she played this song as well...really amazing! ;-)

  • live on north sea jazz was the best version i've ever heard

  • This is like two great songs in one. But I feel you on the second minute and on. That's my favorite part.

  • im feelin da beat from 3:00 mins on

  • I love this song!

  • i heard it this afternoon at work. cool song!

  • One of the coolest songs I've ever heard. Candy Dulfer is the best.

  • Love it!! Love it!!!

  • I absolutely love this song. I listened to snippets of her cd at the music store; very nice.

  • That's very saxy ... a cool tune, I like it.

  • candy got down on this one she is good us women are moving on up

  • Candy sounds great on this composition. she sure can play that saxaphone

  • I love this song!! Thanks for posting.

  • bmac71949

This woman is GREAT! I loved this cut from the first time I heard it. So what if she's a woman.

  • Is she famous in the US? If you'll ask someone: do you know candy Dulfer, what would they say?

  • She's not mainstream like Kenny G but she's known on smooth jazz stations. If you like other smooth jazz artists, try Boney James, Dave Koz, and George Benson.

  • thats because she plays the blue note ie...it opens your 3rd eye..ie..coletrain lady day miles etc

  • The entertainers you mention could not hold Candy's girdle when it comes to putting on a show. No one puts on a better more entertaining feel good, high energy performance than Dulfer' group. Kentuckysportsreviewer's Candice"Legs" Allen

  • This girl has some skill! She is ridin' out in the US as #1 on the top 20 Jazz Countdown! This song is too funky!

  • Actually that's for the Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown. She doesn't rank for the Top Jazz Countdown.

  • ehhh

  • I'm not trying to be sexist, but the Saxophone sounds like a male instrument. I'm not that affiliated with the oddball of the woodwinds but it seems to deep for a woman.

  • Who the hell cares? She's still good at it. And saying you're not "trying" to be sexist doesn't make the comment any better.

  • That's beside the point. The saxophone's voice seems masculine. Whenever I hear it I wonder who played it. When I first heard this I was wondering why a guy would have the name Candy.

  • WOW! I think you have an L disability to make a statement like that or either just are not a music enthusiast. She is a BEAST!!! The second section of this song is so sexy its not even funny!! When I first heard it I just stopped everything I was doing.

  • Sorry but were you referring to my post?
