I cant understand, like GanjaWeedMan says, how Michael Hedges never reached a huge audience. Folk guitarists during the 60's played the acoustic with simple chords and made it huge for decades, while Michael played the acoustic guitar like some kind of acoustic guitar guru that has been practicing the art of guitarism for thousands of centuries.
Great music, better than Jimi Hendrix's version (I think this even beats the original Dylan version, although that is kinda impossible in theory...)
@PerpetualLifecycle michael hedges is late 80 early 90's everyone wanted to hear iron maiden and nirvana. not this. then, the idea of an acoustic guitar and someone singing wasnt enough
@gogokhan95 Then some trivia- I used to live in a famous apartment in Woodstock NY, the Reynolds house, near the Dalai Lama's monastary, his seat in America, looks over Woodstock. Bob Dylan lived there and wrote this there, recorded it then moved across town. Next day Jimi Hendix moved in the place and recorded his version right away, same house. He was very fast with the re-do. Later Bob Marley lived there. The place was a bit like a watchtower looking over town.
No, silly, it's much more than "just the song".

@tsunami2011 Yeah, thats a way to put it... music like this is first now becoming hugely popular because of people like Andy Mckee...
I think Andy's great and a wonderful musician but he doesnt top Mike.

Probably one of the most under rated musicians of the 20th century.
