Wow. I think I've spent a good hour listening to about a hundred versions of "Precious Lord" because my grandpa, whom I love so dearly, is suffering on his deathbed. This is the only song I could think of for him that just felt right in my heart. Every other version I've listened to is oversung, too twangy, and sometimes sung in tune but without any soul. Yours brought the tears. I just wish I could purchase your version for keeps. Thanks for singing what I feel, the way I feel.
@chicksfeet Sorry to hear about your grandpa. Ironically, my great-grandfather was just put in the Alzheimer's unit at the nursing home. It was a rapid descent. But I love it that you felt my soul in the song. I think there's healing in letting ourselves feel that deeply.
@TheMondsOne Thank u! Music is my outlet for all my joy/pain/praise. My grandma (his wife) entered Alzheimer's unit @n.h. almost 1 yr; today when I saw Grampa 2day I visited her there for 1st time. When her mind started to go it broke my heart like it was my own mother & I felt like it hurt too much to see her b/c the grama I knew & loved so much was already gone. But funny thing is she's so happy & I actually had fun just loving who she is today. Still miss her though. God bless; keep singing!

Was so much harder than I thought (just missing him & knowing he was gone) but wanted 2 share that being present when he died was a beautiful experience. Never understood how something like that could be til it happened 2 me, so wanted 2 tell u - visit ur grandpa often, & watch for the beautiful graces God will bestow.They're still coming 2 me. :)

This video literally brought me to my knees. I recently had shoulder surgery due to a car accident in March of this year. I am recovering nicely, however, I have not been able to return to work since the accident and I am on short term disability for a few more weeks. During these three long months, I realized that I had lost faith in our Lord due to all the difficulties the accident has caused. Thanks to your video and awesome voice, my faith in the Lord has been restored. Thank you so much.

This is one of my favorite songs and you do such a beautiful job!
But there's more.
Music and song can, at times, be such a powerful and spiritual experience.
When one sings from the heart, then whatever comes out, to me, is beautiful.
When we sing from the heart, quite often what flows through brings us closer to God.
