My point is he wasn't square meaning he should have been at the same angle as the puck when it bounced and his glove is not in the centre (more left-centre). Just look at the angle of the puck coming and Vesa is not square it.

Pause it at 1:10. He's totally square to the puck and trying to glove it to his chest. The puck is roll-bouncing, meaning it's bouncing in it's smallest surface area, making it extremely unstable. It doesn't bounce like a ball, up and down, which is why it shoots off to his left (our right) on the last bounce. Had he left his glove to his side where the normal position would be, it would have probably hit it.

People would say use chest to stop here, but in NHL you have to control rebounds.

ill admit that being a goalie in the NHL is prolly the toughest position in ANY sport to stop something so small. catcher in baseball is close, but the pitcher throws pretty accurate 90-95%. anyway, toskala is not a bad goaltender. caron, who played for the pens, let in a 170 ft shot, and havent heard his name in years. every once in a while, the puck may hit the ice awkwardly. yes, it hit him, but he was square with the puck, and then hit his arm. not his fault, just luck.
